QUOTE("Shallach")
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Something is buried here, a soul who has tried
many times to contact Me."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "I believe this soul to have been somehow
connected to the fortress of Shallach, due to its relative location."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Therefore, tonight I shall attempt to raise the
creature that lies here beneath the earth and seek answers from it."
You gag a bit as Alger's stink wafts over you.
You gag a bit as Alger's stink wafts over you.
Trasse snaps his fingers and warm water showers down upon Alger, who scrubs
under his armpits trying to wash away that horrible stench.
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Now."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "I need to focus."
A black fire erupts from each of Fain's hands, and the miasma of souls swirling
around His body reach a crescendo of madness, wailing and shrieking in horror.
Silvanus raises his staff.
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Rise creature beneath this tainted earth! Rise
as My servant!"
Pointing His hands downward at the soil, Fain unleashes a stream of black fire
that wreathes over the cold gravestone. Smoke and ash fill the air all around
the small river island.
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "RISE!"
Coalescing into a black mist, an apparition of an orclach suddenly appears
hovering over the grave site.
The spirit of Gruvar exclaims, "I am woken, Gruvar the Shaman, last of the
orclach war healers!"
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Hail, Gruvar the Shaman."
The spirit of Gruvar turns to face Fain and bows his head respectfully.
The spirit of Gruvar says, "Hail, my Lord."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "I have brought many this night, to the site of
your resting place, seeking answers."
The spirit of Gruvar says, "Yes, m'Lord, I have often sought Your attentions
from my grace."
The spirit of Gruvar says, "Grave, rather."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Indeed, I have felt your presence in My mind
many times before."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "But I was unable to connect with you until now."
Once a powerful battle healer, the spirit of Gruvar is wrapped in gauze from
being mummified ages ago. His grey orclach skin is transparent and no blood
pulses through his ethereal form. Open sockets where eyes should be stare out
from his rotted face wrapped in layers of protection.
The spirit of Gruvar is quite powerful.
He is strangely weightless.
He is loyal to Fain, of the Red Masque.
You see nothing in it.
Fain pats the Horn of Urlach in a friendly manner.
The spirit of Gruvar says, "I will attempt to answer all those questions I
can."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Very well."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "First, long ago, a group of Orclach followed the
teaching of the Vernal god Urlach, and built a fortress in His image and
might."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "The location was said to be somewhere nearby, a
location not far from this riverbed."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "For some time, I have sought to find this home
of My brother Orlachmar's children, to be once again reunited with them."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Can you tell us, orclach spirit, where the
entrance of such a place could be?"
The spirit of Gruvar says, "Yes, my Lord. It is indeed correct that the
location of the Shallach fortress was nearby, in fact in times long ago it was
mere paces northwest of the source of this river."
The spirit of Gruvar says, "Though I do not know if the path still exists... or
what state the fortress may be in."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Could you lead us there, Gruvar the Shaman?"
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "These mortals are interested in finding it."
The spirit of Gruvar bows his head again.
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Some, like this one Knall, have long been
seperated from their kin."
Fain points accusingly at Knall.
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Let us be off, all should follow."
-traveling-
The spirit of Gruvar says, "Ah, yes, this is the path of old."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Spirit, is this the place?"
The spirit of Gruvar says, "Yes, my Lord... but the entrance is not here... or
perhaps not accessible."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "We are blocked."
Master Silvanus d'Murani, the Blight says, "During the Taint wars, it seems as
if it was destroyed."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "No, not possible."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "There must be a way in."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Speak, creature!"
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Tell Me how to get inside!"
The spirit of Gruvar says, "Hmm... yes, my Lord... well, it seems there is some
kind of shield... magical in nature."
The spirit of Gruvar floats around the area, turning his sightless gaze in all
directions.
Fain, of the Red Masque screams, "OUT WITH IT!!"
The spirit of Gruvar says, "It must be broken, my Lord, there is a force here
with keeps it, and it must be broken for us to enter."
Viscount Alger D'Tylmirande Commandant of the Tower says, "The gates maybe."
Silvanus points accusingly at Knall.
Alger nods his head at Silvanus.
Trooper Knall says, "What do I need to do?"
The spirit of Gruvar says, "Orclach blood will not avail us, not yet..."
The spirit of Gruvar says, "But perhaps that of lesser creatures will."
Comprehension flashes across Fain's face.
Master Silvanus d'Murani, the Blight asks, "An Orc?"
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "The blood of those of lesser gods."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "I see."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "A sacrifice to Urlach."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "He must have weaved a spell around this place
before he joined the others in becoming Avecnha."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "I have an idea."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Bring Me the bodies of aslarans, krokani,
lucidians and loboshigaru."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "We will attempt to make an offering to break the
spell."
Alger nods his head emphatically.
Eruttu nods her head emphatically.
Myndaen has been slain by the might of a monstrous gravedigger.
Trasse nods his head emphatically.
-we gather creatures-
The spirit of Gruvar says, "I am ready."
The spirit of Gruvar bows his head in concentration.
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Tell all to return to us."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Excellent.. our sacrifice was deemed sufficient
by Gruvar."
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Now a pureblood orclach must sound the horn."
Fain gives the Horn of Urlach to Trooper Knall.
Knall clutches the Horn of Urlach firmly.
Raising the Horn of Urlach to his lips, Knall sounds a long, clear note upon
it, filling the air with its sound.
A long, reverberating note echoes across the Basin, clearly from some great
horn being blown.
The plinth begins to vibrate rapidly, and the air is filled with buzzing before
it explodes outwards in a shower of bone shards and the shimmering wall to the
north disappears.
Knall gives the Horn of Urlach to Fain, of the Red Masque.
"Huzzah!" Fain shouts triumphantly.
Fain, of the Red Masque says, "Let us venture inside!"
The winds gust in a sigh of relief, a mighty exhale felt throughout the area as
Fain departs shrouded in shadow.
