I need to calculate how much money I spend on Lusternia as opposed to MTG, and on all other entertainment combined, now that I come to think of it.
Caffrey2007-11-14 13:02:48
I don't like to work out things like that, it just depresses me!

But as for MTG, I know my Sliver collection alone is worth at least £300. Got 4x Taiga and 4x Volcanic Island in there too. I hardly play anymore though, so I have stopped buying mtg booster boxes for each release!

Spent a small fortune on Lusternia too over the last 3 years. If I don't look at the receipts, it doesn't hurt.

Maybe if you calculate it on a per-month basis instead of total it'll look less scary...
Iola2007-11-14 13:51:31
My MTG decks cost nothing - because I keep stealing my friend's whilst I carry on deciding what deck I want to buy.

And I spent a total of, I think, £30 on Lusternia? Being a student helps. No money to throw away biggrin.gif

Hmmm, nope not really. But at the same time I found Achaea/Lusternia I stopped playing any 3D games and all the associated cost with upgrading my PC every 6 months like I used to. If I think of it that way, then it's fine.

On topic, I have been in the IRC channel the last few days and I think it is OK, although it can be deathly quiet at times.

Yeah, I once sat down and figured out what I spent on MtG. I quit that day. At the time, I had four full sets each of Alpha, Beta, Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Dark, Fallen Empires and I was starting on whatever the next one was that had just come out.

I decided I needed a less expensive addiction. I haven't played since. Fortunately, I was able to get a mint off my collection, selling them off at the local hobby store on game night.

I tried to stop buying credits as soon as I got married. That way my wife won't ask me about those insane purchases smile.gif

however, then the 30% credit sale came up and those hopes went out the window.

Calculating per-month...hmm...still about $10 more than a WoW account.

Heh.

Threw mine away. Good decision.

Yes, this is a necro. The IRC channel has become moribund beyond my ability to revive it, so unless someone wants to find a way to make it live again, I'm closing it down.
Acrune2008-09-24 21:18:26
I blame Tully for getting IRC taken off the lusternia links page.

I blame the lack of activity.
