I'm not sure if it's the case with every guard, but I know it's like this in Seren. Sometimes when you enter a room with a guard, they'll give you a specific greeting depending on what guild you're in. Like, 'Hail, faetender.' is something I think the Frost Hags have said to MD's.
How about we update these responses for Bards and Monks? It'd probably help them mold into the everyday life of their org instead of seeming like such a brand new, unusual thing.

I think they made it so each guild's guard have a special greetings to someone of that guild.
Since monks have no guards, and bards and druid guards are embedded (I'm guessing mage guards too), they can't really greet their guild member.

Hmm. Could've sworn I've seen a guard give a greeting to a Druid. :S

All I remember the guards in Celest saying is, "Salut, Aison!"
Why do our guards speak French?? I fail to understand this.

Seren guards > all when it comes to responses. Especially the elfen guards and moon ladies.
Also, I totally agree that guards should have different greetings / responses for city/commune members or guild members.
It would be especially awesome to have guards greet their guild champion in a special way. IE hags the heir of ellindel.

Hear hear. I suggested this in a message to our patron a month or two ago. Little things like that help make us feel like a part of things.

I think how it works is that all (mob) guards greet all members of the commune, but they have a special greeting for members of their guild. Could be wrong, though. But I'm sure I've seen Hags say stuff other than Fae-tender to people other than MDs.

Yep. It already works this way. Ours give greetings to the "Children of the Dark Forest" if not in the Shadowdancer guild, as I remember it. Something like that. Our widowriders have a response for Ebonguard, one for general Commune members, and one for the Outsiders. (It's the same response whether they are an enemy or not, but the first also comes with the whole "Attacking you" bit).
