I agree with Desitrus. Group combat in Lusternia reeks, period.
Let us assume 5v5, with people named A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 on one team, B1, blah blah blah on the other. They collide. Team A all start whaling on B1, team B all starts whaling on A1. B1 and A1 are pretty quickly dead unless they leave combat, and pretty soon one group manages to exclude enough of the other team to finish them all off. That's how it is. And nobody that I'm aware of, not even the Forren, can stand up to five people with any degree of competence whaling on him. The afflicts just come way the pie too fast. I like 1v1 and 2v2, since there is still room to a.) survive b.) see what's going on and c.) react to a situation, but anything larger is just silly. Much to my chagrin, raids/counterraids are usually groups of 5+ and involve the massive spamfest that invariably kills some people with buffer overflow as Destirus already has stated. Failing actual groups colliding, it's all about trying to isolate people from the other group and 5v1 BAMSQUISH them. Grr.

I think more collective manueveurs would make group combat more interesting. Covens already exist, and as Xenthos said, skirmishing with a support coven is lots of fun, especially as it suits lots of different combat preferences/inclinations. Yes, demesnes do cause fights to deviate from five on five, picking off one at a time, but aside from things like currents and treelife, there isn't much. I suppose, just a little bit more long range things/synergy of individuals' skills would make things more interesting. I mean, of course two people can coordinate their abilities to be more effective, but so often it just devolves into one person hindering, and other people just using raw damage.

Thats not really true, a lot of times tanky people can survive that long enough for the rest of the group to kill a person or two in the other group.
As for these ideas, all they'll be used for is weeding out the weaker from the groups or bumping the stronger into their own group, which doesn't make for a more fun lusternia.

or I just quote Veonira, cause that's just how it could be!!! :DDDD
You mean like in ninja movies? As in, the hero stands in the centre of the room as his opponents actually attack him one by one? I don't think you have seen many martial arts movies.

How is this an ability to pick of the weak people, if its anything its to pick of the big people, consider the weak people usualy have trouble manovering on their own.
Its like saying beckon is used to pick of the little guy, or summon cause they forget to shield.

Well I was just making a joke, but yes, exactly.
