A few issues, in no particular order: Collegiums, Constructs, miniatures, aetherships, sap, crowform/stagform, Totems losing their runes/tunes when they revert, meaning every new totem set up costs a minimum of 24p (34p + 150 carrion + 5 wood for Crow users)... etc.
Acrune2007-11-24 18:17:31
Oh yeah, forgot about constructs. Make angelfont worth the comms.

Yep. That, and the Darknest, and the Nightaltar need changes, imo. I think the Crypt and Moonaltar are fine, but Soll asked we not really get into that here.

While I understand the desire to focus exclusively on quests or bugs for awhile, it's really not possible as the holidays approach and we have our hands full and are a bit backlogged (unless you want us to cease all work on monks and stop all event planning). However, I was thinking of something along those lines at some point in the beginning of next year if you can be patient.
Ilyarin2007-11-24 19:42:19
That sounds promising. smile.gif Thanks for the reply. I realise it's not entirely feasible to drop everything and sit down to go over everything that's buggy or could use tweaking, but I just think that setting a specific period of time aside for the purpose of ironing out some of the old things could really help the game become more fluid and dynamic. Look forward to seeing what the new year brings, then!

I may not post a summary now, since we can wait until the new year, but this is one suggestion I thought would actually iron out a disproportionate amount of problems for the time that I am guessing it would take it code.

---

Problem: It is very difficult to tell whether or not something is bugged, or if a certain bug has been noticed/fixed.

Possible solution(s):
1) When a bug is approved, players can read the bug report (though not who sent it in), and all other reports approved in the last 7 days, with the BUGLIST # # (listed similarly as readlog org # #) command.

2) When a bug is fixed/disregarded, the person who submitted the bug receives an automated or manual message stating that it has been fixed/disregarded.

I voted for the two weeks.

Problem is I "think" Roark is one of the bigger bug fixers. (I think he is a master of the Rapture system). So I get the impression that some of the tweaks and bug fixes need to be done by him alone. This makes it hard since he is on a major project right now, and while Morgfyre can handle some bugs (that arent deeply imbedded in rapture code), I think it is harder to get these bugs fixed than we actually know.

I voted for option 1. There are so many little bugs out there that have either been around for ages and nobody does anything about them. Many of them are just minor quibbles, but I'd still say get rid of as many of the little pests as we can.

Some examples of these would be the fact that the politics board is screwed up for all guilds but the Ur'Guard, the glassblower in Celest stealing sand, etc. I may post more if I think of them.

EDIT: Didn't realise that there was a second page. I'm fine with this waiting until after the holiday season. So long as it gets done at some point in the not-to-far future.

Two weeks.

I think that ironing a lot of things out would help. Although, I can see that with only a small handful of coders (Estarra, Roark and Morgfyre, Morgfyre also being occupied with being IC as well) it would be hard.

And yes, I'm all for on waiting for the bugs to get fixed. It's not like they're so glaring that it makes it impossible to do anything, but I do think that it should get done in the not-so-far-flung-future.

Shofangi/Tahtetso should be disabled for a few weeks while this is done, as well! happy.gif

But you already know when those will be fixed. It was in the monk forums.

edit- or lizzy shoulda told ya but I think you can read it.

If theres truly a problem with a skill you would like looked into you can always mail it to your envoy or someone able to notify an envoy (dont think divine though).

In this format as above:

Skillset:

You do require some reasoning behind it and this is the same we have to do.

More slots, please! Unless you're volunteering to take some of mine.

Oh and bugs we dont handle unless they are extreme or game altering generally.

Well virtually the whole point of this thread was that they should take time out to fix bugs etc. So what was the point of your previous post again?

People are talking about balancing skills so we dont have to keep altering things. That can be envoyed.

Keep up bucko.

Add some mortal coders to handle the BUG list. *cough*

* If you pick option 1, could you please either post or PM me a brief summary of just why you picked it? Ie, what things you think could do with tweaking in Lusternia before new changes are made.

I voted for option one, because in general I think it is more exciting and more rewarding to have broken things fixed, then to get new toys.

... and stop all event planning ....

I think the best event you can plan would be a 10 page post listing all the bugs that you just fixed smile.gif

Thats much more fun than random credit prizes and FFAs and all sorts of other RP events/activities.
