Either or, if I'm around for it, I'll be happy. I can't recall getting a present from either, so I'd be happy if I got a vial of mending or a 32 room aethership fully decked out with every artifact known for aetherships.

Well, I'd be really happy if I got the Aethership. More so than if I got the vial. But I'd still be happy if I got a vial of mending. Saves me gold.

The gnome in charge of the Solstice is Jolly Bundy. I think a statue of him still exists in Ialie's game room.

Actually that was on Keles. He can't be suicided. I get on him once in a while just to run around and play with enchantments.

I'm going to make a wild guess and say Ironbeard's gifts can be changed to be more artis and less...palettes.

That said, I agree with Rika: a system where everyone gets at least one present is far, far better than a system where some people get 5+, and others get nothing.

No more palettes, please.

The gnomes sounds awful because a select few people can influence them like mad and end up getting a billion things while some people get nothing because all the gnomes have been ninja'd. At least with Ironbeard the only complaint I could lodge was against the random number generator (and then he did end up giving me a glowing bottle anyways, so no complaint). But I also agree that it somehow needs to be made more equal... the whole deal of people with 7+ ironbeard gifts and some with none was silly. Maybe just give everyone soap and be done with it (kidding! *hides from the druid lynchmobs*)

I liked the gnomes better because you can actually do something about getting a present from them, whereas all you can do with Ironbeard is go AFK and hope he visits you.

Also, the gnomes take 2 attacks to influence from anyone, so you don't have to worry about high-charisma people stealing them.

yeah, no doubt.. i think Meliana got like 12 presents.. i got a soap, but not knowing how useful it was, traded it in for credits.. then lost lessons from said credits, changing tradeskills for my family *grumble*

You find them, beg from them, they give you a gift.

The only present I got was 6 palettes and 5-6k gold from Ironbeard.

I'd of preferred an iron vial, at least that's an interesting item.
