What may or may not also be worthy to try is some minor village questing stuff. I personally am a huge fan of those since they aren't just mashing my "attack" aliases over and over and over and require a little bit of thought. Not to mention most of them pay nicely! The lowest paying village quest I've seen is something like 3000 gold, highest being 5000.

Anyways, about the whole bashing for gold thing. People, BS AND SHENANIGANS. The -majority- of players will not trans every skill through bashing. Maybe a few oldschoolers did with old astral. Are you kidding me though? Maybe two skills, at MAX (over years). This isn't taking into consideration credit sales or anything similar. If you were to buy credits on the market for 4000 gold each, you would have to spend 1.2 million gold to trans a skill from inept to transcendant. Roughly. A leisure player cannot seriously sit here and say that they trans their skills through bashing. In my world, time = money. If I compare the ratio it takes for me to bash 1.2 million gold against the time it takes me to make 104.99$ US (300 credits) it's just laughable. Any person with basic reasoning skills can figure this out.

I'm just trying to give the guy a dose of reality.

It's true that you can make more raw credits through rl work than bashing, but due to factors such as lack of work hours, demand for xp and karma, and greater enjoyment of playing Lusternia than work (shocking!) many many people actually do grind for credits. If nobody bought credits with gold, we wouldn't have a credit market.

I know it will be hard to bash for credits. I never said it would be easy. Shoot, I never said doing what I did would make life easy period. Actually, I knew full well that it would make things 300 times harder. Last night I got attacked by Elodres for tainting all the krokani tower. I couldn't diagnose and I couldn't get any herbs from my rift. Shikha had to save my sorry butt. All it did though was enforce my resolve. Now I have diagnose back thanks to Shikha for the credits she gave me to get it and at cosmicgate in planar thanks to just gaining 55 and using bound credits.

In all my time playing Aetolia, Achaea, Imperian and Lusternia, I have yet to bust my butt for anything in game. I went and bought OOC credits to sell and use gold to buy things or to trans skills. I can buy 40 credits right now (looked through my budget and found 20 dollars I forgot I had left over) but I don't want to. I want to earn it and gain respect from others in the games as someone who worked hard to get what he wanted and not just took the easy route again.

Just so we are clear, I am not bashing anyone who buys credits RL. If that is how you want to do it so be it. I will still respect you if you earn it. As for me, it feels like its an easy route...and in my case it is because I'm to lazy to work for anything. So I am trying to change that.

I agree completely. Bashing in IRE games, especially, is very easy and lacking any entertainment value. The only hard part is not zoning out and dying due to forgetting to move rooms and having a few dozen aggros come in and eat you alive.

One mistake that I did repeatedly. I only learned on Eilar. Jack and Kymir were crippled through forgetting too many skills and guildhopping.

Iblis was crippled because I gambled up loads of lessons on Eilar, got bored, and decided to forget everything for shits and giggles.
