I just randomly chose to interact with someone in my area and looked at their diary and saw they were following me and was like WHOA and then noticed they were in a band called Captain Acrune

And Amarysse, make sure your career priority is set to 'compose music'. Every few hours either your melody or lyrics will be improved.
Umm a few other tips... 'busking' will make your person some small cash, and salaries get paid every Friday morning. NPCs get paid the $300, but when players take up jobs, owners will usually up it to around $1000. Feel free to interact with random people in different locales, b/c apparently that's normal there and it's good for your mood To learn skills it's cheapest to find a teacher in the universities and interact with them until you can become apprentice/master. Oh and I don't recommend getting a pet early on... it's tough on the wallet and if you release your pet your character goes into depression *mutter* There's lots of more info in the forums/help documents but you can ask me questions too and I'll try to answer!
Lastly to add a friend, on the character profile page just choose 'Add to list' on the right menu bar. Duh.

I read their forums and saw how chicks were ending up preggers and stuff, warned veo to make sure she was chaste. The game is fun. Some chick wanted me to leave my door unlocked, I did, and she left me a rock book. woot. I have a song that sucks, my job gave me a raise to 850 and I am never there, and I don't know how to add people to my friends. But it is sooo much fun...
