So, I get to work and log in this morning to check on my girl's progress.... and someone has asked to be MY apprentice.

I accepted them, but since I'm engaged in learning from like four different people at the moment, and only have two skills so far, I don't know when or what I'd teach em.

I'm not sure how, my tasks are filled up with a ton of stuff I can't do. Make a song seems to have vanished from the list, which I guess is good since I can't finish a song without skills, apparently. Then her list:

Jam- Nothing to jam
Book a concert- Nothing to play
Fly somewhere- Broke
Give someone an item- I tried giving a flower, didn't work. Too broke to give anything else.
Learn a new skill- She doesn't seem to be offering to teach me...

Its going to take me like 2 months to get done the mother tour...

You can write a song without the skills - it just won't be very good. So, go ahead and write a song and jam it - your city ought to have a couple of free jamming places, you'll just have to book a few days out is all. As for the giving something, busk for an update or two to get a few bucks (if you didn't get any salary - you do have a job, right?) and then buy something really cheap like a hairband or something and give it away. As for the learn a new skill one, you actually have to learn that skill from a book (according to the folks answering newbie questions on the forum anyway). You can either save up to buy a book or get someone to give you one - I got one from some nice random stranger after asking a Noob question on the forums.

Nah, you can set that to anything. Now... when you play it, if you don't know the instrument, your show's gonna suck. But, honestly your first shows are just gonna suck anyway. So, don't worry bout it. Write a throw-away song, for a throw-away jam, for a throw-away show, just to complete your tasks.

Yeah, it feels quite rewarding after worrying over it for days when you finally get some. I'm being taught Basic Sex Appeal, Basic Showmanship and Basic Astrology right now. I check on the progress every once in a while and try to make bets with myself as to which one I'll Eureka first on. Turns out it's the IQ and teaching level of your Master that determines when you'll Eureka more than your own IQ.

Yep. When you are learning from master/mistress they select what skills to teach. On their "turn" they will try to teach it and you may get the eurika...or not. Seems like I couldn't learn Electronica .
