I think it's cause after you've been in the game a while, you have so much of it. I've read several threads on the forums where people ask for more things to spend their money on. Some folks just decide that handing out money to newbs is a good way to spend their excess.

Checkout your city's forum, all the cities have some sort of 'sick' thread where sick folks can announce that they need help and doctors will see it and go to you.

I need to practice economics once I get a Eureka! on this showmanship skill, though, so I can do the job-- she has me set at $1200 a week for salesperson right now.
