Add some other peoples songs to your repetoire. You need at least 10 songs to not piss the audience off... Just go to the list of top 10 bands (in your genre) and then click on some of their "songs", after that just "add to repetoire"

If you focus on work, you get a bit of money every update, just like with busking. Only it doesn't affect your health like busking does. Also, the more money you have on hand, the more you get - though it's not a huge amount no matter what.

Luckily though, you can take as long as you want to complete the mom tasks.

Also, FYI, you can satisfy the 'get an apartment' one by getting an apartment in another city - so you can have an ampartment and still keep your free digs in your hometown.
