I actually liked this change too!!
I like the majority of the changes they've made recently.

Me too.
But I am sorry Shou is sad.

I like this change. Not so much a fan of the riders. Now I need an engineering degree just to book a show and get the profit my boss wants.
Unknown2008-02-13 16:50:37
That's funny, I had felt that riders actually added an interesting dimension to shows. Just gave myself a dressing room, towels, and drinks! Unless there's something I'm missing...
And I guess I'll learn to live with this teaching change... just looking forward to what exactly this 'school' system will be like.

I've got these random skills; basic science, basic engineering, basic computer knowledge...
Do these skills have any effect in game? O.o

They're all prerequisites for skills that lead to other professions, like being a doctor, for instance.
Unknown2008-02-13 16:55:30
Welll, computer knowledge is needed for some stage effects, especially in the electronica genre. I would assume the same goes for the first two (can't recall any effects that need them though), otherwise they're just pre-reqs for more advanced skills.

From an -artist- standpoint, they're pretty neat. From a -CEO- standpoint, they're a big hassle, because the cost for your rider comes out of the club's profits for the show. So, you have to determine if the show will still be profitable and, if so, will it be profitable -enough-.
My boss, for instance, wants me to offset rider costs by lowering the artist's share of the ticket profits, so for any riders that aren't trivial, I have to try to project ticket sales, figure out what percentage of that figure is the rider cost, lower the artist's share by that amount, and hope I'm right/the artist doesn't cancel.

I liked this change. Heh. I think it goes to show that you can't please everyone all the time in ANY game!
I don't like it much... because it ruins my plans. I had detailed and careful plans spanning all the way to June and now I've got to rethink all of them.
But I don't hate it enough to throw a fit like some of the folks on the English General forum are! Some of those guys are taking the game a bit toooooo seriously. Folks need to learn to roll with the punches!

Hey, Noola! Welcome back!
Hey! I'm not back-back. I'm forums back. Might be back-back in a bit though.
Course, Noola may have to become a hermit. I swear. It's the only way I can think of to keep myself from getting tempted to try to do things and thus leaving messes behind when life demands more attention than I can reasonably split up between it and Lusty.
Or maybe I'll just have to give up on Noola altogether and make me a nice little nobody alt that no one'll miss when I have to go missing for two or three weeks at a go.
Or maybe I'll just keep going on with Noola after I think up whatever excuses I can to explain what happened to her this time ICly.
I don't know what to do really. It's a mess. But it's a mess I made myself so I'll just focus all my irritation at the cause and stop complaining about Lusty stuff in the Popo thread!

I only ever interact with you in the forums, anyway, so "forums back" is good enough from my vantage point.

That and your super awesome messages in Popo you send me now and then! I love those!
I told a RL friend of mine about you and she went and checked out your profile when you had that blog entry about going to London up and she cracked up. She said you had to be the coolest person... or that you just had way too much time.
I do have something Popoish to complain about though! I let my boss talk me into switching from being CEO of the super easy to run hotel she owns to the ungodly complicated recording studeo she owns... and she didn't tell me hardly anything about how to run it! I think I can figure it out though, she just better be patient while I muddle through it.
Plus, it doesn't have enough money to pay the salaries for this week and she's not online to transfer money over. So... I bet I get some nasty messages in turkish soon!

If the Turkish message trend holds up, they should go something like this:
hey i get no money of u. u sexy for i love u.

Noola just get prepped to play Tears Of Polaris. Since it won't be released until later this year, no worries about when you can't be around.
Riders- They confuse the hell outta me. I see all the clubs (I play at) have a 0 rider limit. So I am too worried to ask for 34$ in towels, let alone anything else.
Teaching change- I like it. I was kinda posting alot on the devel forum with some people about this type of change. And I am happy to see it be installed. I think they did push it a little too much though. I was expecting having to be 5*'s in the skill but didn't think they would have it make you also have 5*'s in teaching (I thought just having 1 * woulda been ok)
And now I know why 2 of my teachers dropped me. No worries though. I better send a message to Sue, Kris and Erin though. I don't want them dropping me I need them later to learn some things.
On another note, I have been getting so many invitations to play, like 2 a day for the past 3 days. One thing that I mess up on is accepting them and not realizing it was a competition. I think I need to click info more. I am in 3 competitions. 1-2 I have no chance in winning and another one if I am lucky I will place 1-3.
Also only like 5 more days until DAY OF THE DEAD!!! WOOT!! If any of you are planning on being in Moscow for this (on the 19th) PM me in game and I will try to make sure you have a place to stay and/or a place to drop equipment/clothing etc so you can carry more stuff.
And to whoever was stuck in a Nashville "in between" place. You are probably on one of the two quests there. Just go back the way you came and you will be back in Nashville. One of the path things leads to the Little House on the Prarie, the other leads to a place you end up using Lucille (a guitar from another quest) at to knock down a wall and get some b. string books and elect guitar books.

Edit: And I can't stop playing Lusternia. It's like a drug. I get dragged off occasionally by life, but then when life slows down again... I hear the siren call and have to follow it.

It is the new IRE sci-fi drug in the works. http://forums.tearsofpolaris.com
It will have the perks of having great history/background stories, great setup for traders (you can choose to drop 2 skills in exchange for 2 more tradeskill skills), and an in-depth combat system. Both for spacecraft and player.
It is headed up by an old Admin from Lusty and a few others.

And it sounds interesting! Especially the Sci-fi part! And the multiple tradeskills part!
But I do Lusternia!
