Thanks Talkan. More logs people! I love these.
Revan2007-12-14 21:33:08
I DCed on the second one near the end*shrug* Happens I guess
Shamarah2007-12-14 21:47:24
Why do you have your angel attack while you're rubbing soulless? It's a waste of wrath.
Malarious2007-12-15 03:39:50
I didnt see phantoms, phantoms with claws is a nasty build with demesne specially if mindblast hit health. Although psychicvamp was doing its work too.

Not bad logs at all though happy.gif

Good logs I guess? Celestian is so easy. rub rub rub rub rub rub rub heretic/infidel/inquisition rinse repeat until it works. Carbon copies of when I dueled you. Not much skill on your part, I'm afraid. it works though, so keep using it until it stops I guess.

Also, for those that seem to think shield stops inquistion, read the first log. If you shield, you still get hit, if you run...you get flamed for running. Lose/lose situation. Inquisition is right up there with PPK for poorly thought out skills that really shouldn't exist.

edit: oh and this. (House Aurendil): Malicia says, "Sipped love, Talkan?"
Xavius2007-12-15 10:53:05
I really do hope getting flamed for running doesn't bother you too much. It's the pretty essential druid tanking trick.

Shield stops inquisition IF and only IF you shield anytime its shattered.

And inqui is a little harder than it looks

Yeah, I'm not what you'd call a high rate combatant, but druids are sort of the epitome of one-trick-poniness. I see this as a problem - I'm of the opinion every guild should have more than one viable means of killing - but it's not like there aren't other guilds set up with one overriding superior method. You don't see many eternal sleep or thornrend deaths, for example.

As regards the love potion thing... isn't that natural? You, non-demesne sort, who uses lust for empress, fighting a demesne user.

I think this is an example of the classic rock-paper-scissors thing you still see a lot of in game mechanics. I know as a monk, there are certain guilds which are naturally more difficult to fight. As a Celestine, there were certain guilds I found harder to deal with.

Tarot Celestine seems to have natural advantages over Geos.

The original Lusternian rock-paper-scissors, penned by Amaru I think, is that guardians tend to beat warriors who tend to beat mages who tend to beat guardians. This was a long time ago and doesn't hold true so well anymore, but when you're dealing with the largely unchanged skillsets of a long time ago, like tarot and geomancy, it should hold true still.

Granted, vapors got a friggin' huge upgade since then, and that's changed the Celestine dynamic a lot.
Revan2007-12-15 15:42:15
it's pretty much impossible to keep a demesne active aginst a tarot user... but I've dreamed up of some foolproof tactics last night. Too bad I won't be able to use them now that I'm going monk

@shamarah: I usually do save my angel until after I have most of the rubs completed, and if you'll notice in the second log, that's the tactic I used. In the first log, I don't remember specifically thinking that I would order it to attack right away, so it was either just a typo as my alias to order my enterouge or my handmaiden alone are pretty similar or it was just me not thinking about it.

stuff

Actually, Celina's posts are some of my favorite to read. Not for any reason she would like, though.

But srsly Bianca, you need to stop doing that after every log he posts. You criticize him for killing with one of the techniques available to a Celestine. I want you to post a log where you kill someone (skilled) without using sap. You criticized Ceren for killing with absolve. Do you believe that the only technique a Celestine should use is Judgement or go for the damage kill (lol). You are looking down on people for only using one method, when I am certain you only use the saplock method. And that's not a bad thing, it's how druids kill people.

And I'm not asking you to stop dissing Talkan because I don't want his feelings to get hurt, if you actually have something constructive to criticize him over, then by all means, do it. These logs are meant for people to learn. As a Celestine, I love it when Talkan posts a log because I can learn from it.

People never seem to post logs any more, and one of the reasons is people like you who jump all over them for -stupid- reasons. A novice or someone just learning combat isn't going to post one of their spars if they think they'll just get made fun of. Add something to the thread, or add something that could help someone.

If you can't do either, go post in the rants thread. Ironically, that's where you post rants.

At this point, I wouldn't recommend that she post any, because she'll just be teased if she ever leaves the room, if she ever uses sap, or if she uses a demesne in all of her fights.

I would post the logs I have but I am afraid people might notice that really, all I do is hit people with two swords. I mean yeah, sometimes I'll mix it up a bit and raze with one while hitting with the other but when you get right down to it, just a lot of the same old same old.

I am overwhelmed with your clever statements. Almost enough to make a girl faint.

Celina, calling Talkan a noob for using inqui-soulless would be like me calling you a noob for using sap.
