I defend my own point of view and if they happen to fall in line with someone else's, neat. Great minds, and all.

Just a quick /divert from the other topic (since it doesn't really seem useful, except as a stress relief):
It's possible to take this defence / "neatness" / "great minds think alike" concept too far, and post similar responses in a bloc with others from your organization. After all, they're the ones most likely to think as you do on certain game-matters (organizational-related, instead of broader game terms), and that's what leads to claims such as the "Celestian Forum Defence Squad." They also tend to come in together at much the same time, reinforcing that impression.

It may also have something to do with your signature-- the whole "To the Forums, Celest! Forum Jihad!" thing. It may be that you are doing it as a joke, or to poke fun at the concept, but it really doesn't do that. Instead, it's saying, "Hey, let's go argue en masse."

Everyone organization is guilty of it, it just seems most obvious coming from Celest. Just something to think about, and to see if the conversation's willing to go somewhere else, or if this thread is forever going to be a shrine to Celina.

I'm going to intentionally not use an image macro here, just to be contrary.
Malicia2007-12-15 22:51:31
@Xenthos - Ceren, while Celestine, said that as a joke, in response to a discussion about how certain players bitch over forums to get something done, in relation to skill changes. See the Angelfont thread and the admin's response to it. I have a Celestian char. So do others that post here, that happen to be on the same page most times. It might seem like an org thing, but I assure you it's not. Also, I think it's silly to take anyone's signature so literally. I found it amusing, so I plastered it there.

This is going nowhere.

Good fight Talkan and Revan. Revan, how do you deal with lust/vapors/love. I always had a hard time with that. or did he use love? I remember Malicia mentioning it but I can't recall seeing the love trigger line. I've always thought there should be an easier way to get around love than rejecting every time. It's fine when like warriors use it, but some specific classes it's really a pain to keep them enemied/dissolved. That could be just me, I've got flashing flashing echos for things like love but..then there's the blackout/fool tarot. Vathael mentioned rejecting after every blackout...that's not fun and really hard to make a decent offence if you do that.

Also is there a way to deal with inquisition other than running and waiting? I stand by shielding not working, especially with blackout constantly hitting and hiding half their actions.
Unknown2007-12-15 22:55:15
Just check allies/enemies after the blackout, just as you would diagnose after the blackout.

Best way to avoid Inquisition is to run. Running like 50 rooms in a duel is ridiculous, but you can always move a room or two. Run and whore shield, it's all you can really do.

Tarot can mask lust with jester, so always be aware of that. And yeah - lustwhoring is annoying.

As for inqusition - just run on infidel, they'll have wasted a good chunk of power.

Hmm, I can certainly see how it comes off that way but despite popular belief, no one is coordinating posting with one another heh. There are just several active, outspoken players with Celestian characters who frequent the forums and sometimes agree on things. I'm not sure how to avoid that kind of thing without it being something like "Oh, Malicia posted. I guess I shouldn't post" And that just doesn't make a lot of sense....

Inquisition is right up there with PPK for poorly thought out skills that really shouldn't exist.

I know this is a late response, but: This is stupid, why should monks not be able to punch and kick?
Unknown2007-12-15 22:59:44
Celina's, Synl's, and Forren's, the last one of each, were quality posts.

Stop replying to things said before them, it's pointless. I'm more interested in learning to set up my system to handle masked afflictions, okay?
Malicia2007-12-15 23:01:26
I find most things about monks to be poorly thought out, as far as design. Inquisition merely strips defs and stuns for 12p. It's more annoying than overpowered. Celestines get more use out of it.

Edit: As far as handling masked afflictions, smart systems will perform a serious of actions to use as checks for various afflictions. Forren likes eating eggs for anorexia tongue.gif. Others 'jump' to check for paralysis. One can easily check for masked hangman, from the prompt. Might want to annoy Catarin or Forren for more specifics.

And so the secret identity of the Celest Forum Defense Squad's insidious leader has finally been revealed. huh.gif

Eh, as i said, it's impossible for a mage to keep a demesne on a lustwhoring guardian. Lust has a much faster balance than reject, and reject is a very long eq loss. With that said, I could have done things alot better in that first battle. For one, using amplify-phobia and the good old fleshstone technique... kill the angel while he's fleshstoned (Hey, if he can turn off my demsne, why not turn off his angel?). Stuff like that. I wasn't really trying that much.

There are ways to prevent that too, if I had suspected that you might try that. But, I would have had to enter the aetherplex without them at all to be 100% sure that you couldn't kill them while I was statued, which I didn't.
