Back to Common Grounds.

First idiot to leave the Ninjakari guild and say his clan was killed and must be avenged dies.

In a horrible fashion. I'm not switching guilds or anything, but the first person I meet like that gets hurt.

Ninjakari?

I still remember that thread where someone suggested "Ninjaka". Looks like they got it.

We kinda got the name, we had other ones, but they didn't like them as well

I have stated monks need fixing since Shofangi, this isnt anything new and I discouraged before we opened Celests whichi was more powerful than Shofangi with more bugs (perma anythings). So now Magnagora is getting theres.. suprise!

People will 'adjust' to the rate of death when like 3 monks all hit at once in time I imagine.

Monks are being fixed, what you didn't know is we are apparently the "guinea pigs" for some changes to all monks to come. We will see how that works.

So everyone decided to go with the Ninja name? laugh.gif Well I'm glad they're finally released, but to be honest I've been eyeing the Glom one quickexit.gif

Btw what kind of weapon is the jakari?

Edit: -gasp- just realized that people are now going to start using ninja in their everyday Lusternian vernacular *shudder*

The weapon is a chain, it can have a sickle on the end, like a kusurigama but it is more of a chain with two blunt ends that tends to dish out blunt like afflictions (except for a few bleeding things, which are due to a skill allowing barbs to be attached)

They won't be released for a few more days to the general public (aka through the portals, which OMG I am scared to see the influx of players who want to see the stealth skillset and make ninja alts, I am scared it will be worse since it has a completely new skillset)

@Jigan, I am secretly killing my wife, then saying I must leave the Ninjakari to avenge her death next week.

P.S. Dont look for a skill list on Scrying Pool though, since well.... if it is still infected I dont want to go there. If it is not infected, whoever tends to deal with the Scrying Pool (aka the person who puts most the lists in, PM me and I will try to get you at least a partial basic list for now)

I went today, didn't get anything.

If Stealth is a good enough subterfuge skillset, I will definitely be joining. I just need to see the list!
Arvont2007-12-15 05:20:43
Quick. Who can Trans first? I'll try to update the Scrying Pool...

And yes, I eye Glom monks too. Stealthy screams Heart of Darkness to me.
Unknown2007-12-15 05:21:09
Hm. I find it amusing that Illithoid developed underground, have underground regen, aaand yet they developed a skill for climbing on rooftops that probably don't even exist underground, lol.

Edit: Also, does Stealth even have anything that puts Illithoid's Inner Worm to good use?
Eldanien2007-12-15 05:57:48
Why do the Kephera acknowledge an element called wood? There are no trees in the Undervault. Yet Wood is one of the five elements of Harmony.

Though I've swallowed the theory that the combat skills are amalgamations of Undervault and surface skills, Harmony and Stealth... yeah...
Fualkner2007-12-15 06:13:19
WOO! We got monks!

Not that I'm switching. Cacophony rocks.

I heard the majority of Mag's monk team were pretty set on keeping some very powerful attacks. Incredibly set on it, in fact.

Yeah, the fact the Kephera elements are distinct from the regular elements has been weirding me out for a while, I need to figure something to tie those together.

EDIT: Nm, just thought of something.

P.S.

Everyone knows ninjas are OP.

I just hope Stealth doesn't turn out to be a basically copied and poorly masked duplicate of Subterfuge.

I think you will find that it is most certainly not! We don't keep copies of old Achaean code lying around, and so all the skills that have been released since Lusternia first opened are unique to our game. If there are some similarities, they are incidental and may function quite differently since they've been coded from scratch.

I don't think they are too similar, basic no-brainer skills like shroud aside.
Saaga2007-12-15 07:48:30
I have been drowning in my coffee, so exciting...
Saaga2007-12-15 07:48:46
And I be afraid too!

While that's reassuring in one regard, I'm still concerned about how - once Kata and its specs are fixed - Stealth vs. Harmony will cause the org monks to balance (or imbalance). I'll probably make a Mag alt this weekend like 50+% of the Lusternian playerbase and find out for myself.

EDIT: And the Shiri ninja smilie has me sort of "excuse me, whut r u doin thar?"

They have really bloody freaking high vaulted cave-ceiling-things that are like 20 stories high, so they can have one story high buildings with roofs. *shrug* I've always imagined most of the undervault as being in a series amazingly freaking huge caves (think Geo Front sized from NGE).

As a side note, browsing the forums while watching AMV Hell is a BAD idea.

ALL GLORY TO HYPNOPIE!!!!

There, I'll jump ahead the time and say...

nerf Ninjakari!
