5 minutes seems a bit long for 5 power, in my opinion, unless it drops on aggressive action...

It does.

Listen to the Org/Guild channels while standing in the room with a person who has access to them.

Ooh, so you can't even do the kick angel/veil to hide location while continuing to kill angel thing? Then yeah, 5 power for 5 minutes definitely seems fine. I mean, its not like they can even really do anymore damage veiled than they could walking really really fast. tongue.gif

Veil isn't as OP as you think, it just stops you being able to scry them or find them by conventional means, it does not hide them while they are standing in a room with you. And a 60 second skill like that would be useless. It isn't a skill that stops attacks, etc. It would be a skill to try to sneak into someplace or escape from someplace. Such as if I were to put on a Talkan mask, slip into Celest under deepcover, impregnate Aison, then be found out that it is I, Ildaudid. The city would come for me (while Aison swooned for me and tried to help me escape, declaring her undying love for her ninja laugh.gif) But I could use Viel to aid in my escape so that I couldnt be scried or pinned down on an exact location in the city.

I am coming to see you soon Aison waggle.gif
They were trying to lower it some for the same power, which would be fine. I didn't look to see if it was lowered. Since it is a trans skill but it is not a trans skill that can be used for UBER killing. It is more of a kick and angel veil and no one can see if you are still there kicking the angel. So, the angel kickers will like it. -shrug-

... laugh.gif As far as anyone is concerned, Aison is a virgin. She has on a heavy duty chastity belt under those (pure white) robes! Getting pregnant is not an option. She and Talkan order from the stork. content.gif

I am mostly worried that people who veil themselves will walk in to the city, decide to kill Jethri/Kinspeople, then walk back out. I think that is just really lame to do that. Do it if you want to raid Celestia, but leave the quest denizens alone (I can understand why they would be killed, but I am a bit more in favor of mechanics over RP in this situation, especially since collegium students need to do that quest to pass into their guilds).

I seriously can't believe they called it ninjakari... I mean... seriously, haha. Who was smoking a bowl when they came up with that one?

EDIT: D'oh, I just read it drops on aggressive actions. Never mind! blush.gif

Quick question about Masquerade....does it mask you just from being in the same room, or would things like scent/mindsense/scan be tricked as well? Also, is that Awareness thing like Awareness in Achaea which alerts one to the entrance and exit of a person in adjacent locations?

Edit: And while I'm at it, is Ghostwalk basically Stealth's own Moon Beam or something more?

In addition to this... would anyone be willing to post the AB, with the AB skill ability?
Unknown2007-12-15 23:10:38
From what I heard, Masquerade is like Glamour, except you make a mask from a corpse using goldtint and it doesn't drop when you move. It does drop on aggressive actions though.

Deepcover allows you to use a Masquerade to slip by guards, but they have a chance of seeing through it if you just sit there, and it costs 7 power. It also drops on aggressive actions.

We can't post AB on the forums sad.gif Its not allowed.
Xiel2007-12-15 23:16:35
That's why we have the scrying pool! wub.gif So I'm guessing that yes then, Masquerade is room only and scent and scan and things isn't tricked by it. I'm still curious about Awareness and Ghostwalk however.

Yet I can post full trigger lines.....?
Furien2007-12-15 23:31:40
I think Awareness is similar. If not that, similar to the spec arties to some degree (not fully).

Ghostwalk is like moonbeam, yes, but it's got a 15-room range for 3p. I think it works even if the target moves.

You know damn good and well we cant retard tongue.gif

Estarra doesnt like ab skill lists posted here. Which is why they end up on the scrying pool.

It isn't because I have it and I don't wanna share it goofy! freaked.gif

edit - awareness is basically a pair of specs of clairvoyance in a sense. It tells you when enemies only are in your area (well enter it) and has a constant rather large mana drain.

ghostwalk is like an area only teleport (but not considered a teleport, meaning the teleport rings do not speed it up). It costs 3 power and is stealthy as in that you will not see any message saying blah blah is trying to port to you, or you feel a tug thing. Again it is area only and the time is a few seconds longer then a teleport.

Masquerade, you MUST have the mask of the person, it works behind all non aggro things. I am not sure if scent will pick it up or not, I cannot remember. But you can wear the mask (which deterioates over time) and basically be seen as that person.

Like I said in an earlier example, I could go to Aison and cry about that chastity belt and she wouldn't know it wasnt me. Now if I did an aggro action, the mask will fall off revealing me. If I stand there, over time the mask will decay, but without interacting it will take a long time.

EDIT: On the plus side, I can't wait to see how the weapon spec turns out. Looks pretty neat, not like whip+dirk dstab/garrote from the OTHER 3 IRE games.

Now, I'm going to be nice and believe Morgfyre when he said that they were all incidental similarities. That still does not prevent:

In that thread Estarra said she doesn't care if skillsets are posted.. I can't imagine her being against AB files if she doesn't mind skillsets. That just doesn't make much sense.
Ildaudid2007-12-16 00:44:00
Well until she says here it is quite alright, then I will make sure it is not my ass on the line for it. I remember her stating the ab's weren't to be posted a long time back. I am pretty sure Nejii even said this another time afterward when someone posted AB's, either way. When she says it is fine, then I don't mind putting them up.

Regarding the whole "Stealth is just a copy of Subterfuge."-thing, there really aren't that many ideas for interesting and useful skills left in the IRE games. For the three blowgun skills, I had no knowledge of similar skills in the other IRE games - I just designed what I felt was appropriate. In any case, there are other examples of skills in Lusternia being similar to skills in other IRE games. Take a look at Kaido and Athletics, for example.
Unknown2007-12-16 04:21:59
And Elementalism (and Elementalism, if that wasn't obvious enough), Totems (compared to Bonding), etc.

I never said that Stealth would be a carbon copy of Subterfuge - which it isn't entirely anyway, since utility skills seem to be carried over from one game to another - I was just concerned that it WOULD be. On that subject, I don't see why you can't spec Harmony and Stealth to deal with a) the Kata specializations and/or b ) the org affliliation. It would allow some flavor to be injected into the skills but I doubt it's ever going to happen and I don't have any suggestions anyway. Achaean monks destroyed the archetype for me entirely.

Aside from the name, Ninjakati looks like it might be promising and that's what I'm more concerned with.
Ildaudid2007-12-16 04:58:25
Well we don't have any phase skills. They didn't want any skills to compare to dreamweaving. And we said phase is a trademark of stealth in other IRE's. They said, ahhh really?? Oh well too bad... no phase. So they do try to come up with unique things, but like people have said, it is pretty hard.

Now darts are nice. Bow and arrow would have been more unique but a pain in the butt to get on board with.
