Having it not work when the target is off-eq seems like overkill. Having it stopped by just shield makes it a tad bit heavy (not ZOMGOPOPOPNERF, just...a little too much). Are you guys sure you wouldn't rather have shield and blocking stop it? That seems a lot less restrictive.

The problem that arises there is the skill is imagined to drag the person right under (or between) the legs of the blockers. It going past block was the main inspiration of the skill. But you think it should be stopped by block and shield, but it should go through on people who are off bal??

I agree. I think Forren had the right idea from the beginning - double-block should stop it. You can still use it mid-fight, and you can catch people when they are moving that way so it is still useful. Making it so that it doesn't work when the target is off-bal and off-eq means it will only work on the off chance that you catch a group moving before they have set up blockers/a wall/etc..

Why would the stand command have relevance to the chaindrag?

I personally hate the grab working off equilibrium. The log shows me using psionics, recovering balance, and I'm still pulled out. As far as I know, all other similar skills check for blockers and being on balance.

We tried for that, but all of us agreed pulling in someone proned/entangled would be too powerful.

As for Forren getting hit, I couldn't see the problem:

In it all you seem to be is proned, and chain drag hits proned, but you had elrx so you were on bal/equil. I don't think being off psi channel balances would count towards off balance though, if that is what you mean? Forren I am not lashing out at you here at all, so please, just lemme know what part is wrong. I am trying to understand why the chaindrag that hit was wierd?


As for drags going into pits, well yea... why wouldnt they if you happened to fall into a pit while being dragged. That is going to happen when the skill gets more and more refined into the game. People will set up tricks, and then we all have to learn how to deal with them. As it stands 2 celestians can use their skills to kill you fast, 2 nihilist and a mount can kill you fast, none of those are going to be changed, so a monk and a warrior is always going to be a tough fight.

Monks work of woundings, but dont give good wounds. Warriors work off wounds, and give good wounds in their attacks. So if you couple a monk with a warrior, say a PB for instance. and are working on the gut, you will end up with a ruptured stomach in 2 combos, if they go for your head, you will be windpiped and decapped in a round or two. That is just how the game works. Combining different guilds to work together will always be more effective (IMO) than just 1 on 1. Although I love 1 on 1 but there is no one in the basin that does 1 on 1, they always call their friends, or propose "duels" sad.gif

Not sure what you're confused about. In the first part you say you all agreed pulling in someone proned/entangled would be too powerful and then you say in it all he is is proned. So he's being pulled in while he's proned...which you just said was too powerful?

Also, saying no one in Basin does 1 on 1 is an overstatement. While most will call in their friends there are people who will fight one on one. It's possible you're not looking hard enough. Also..duels are one on one...well, in theory anyway. Though of course generally people only do one on one with you as long as they think they have a reasonable chance of winning...

Being off psi channel balance should most certainly be treated like being off eq. Considering superstratus takes like 6 sec balance, during which you can't move or shield, that would really leave psions open to be ganked. I think it's a small oversight.
