The aetherplex duels have been a nice part of Lusternian culture actually. I don't particularly mind it. As for browsing in peace, I haven't seen any major issues with it at the moment. If there's a fight going on, leave and come back a bit later. The brawls generally don't last that long so you can always come back a moment later to continue shopping. It'd be a pain to read through those lists with all the spam going on around you if there was a fight anyway.

I didn't mean brawl...I meant...."my friends can beat up your friends" contests.
Yeah. It's also annoying when you don't realize anything is happening, and they have a spell up to keep you from leaving the room, and they assume you're their to fight, and when you try to run away you get cut down.

I find the gankings at the Aetherplex hilarious and entertaining. Except when it's happening to me.
Eldanien2007-12-20 06:06:04
So, solution? Peace the place. Give all org portals a connection somewhere else. Klangratch Tournies or the Transcendental Fulcrux. The former has the advantage of being 'a place of battle', whereas the latter has the advantage of being a bit less constricting in room layout. Neither sees nearly as much traffic from random uninvolved persons.

To the poll questions: No, no, and no.
I do not like dueling in the Aetherplex, when there are perfectly good arenas to use. And Prime is such a large place that, in all the world, why was the Aetherplex picked?
But inasmuch as I despise the duels there, I suppose they need somewhere to fight or we'd see more raids or jumping in other places. I would say not to peace the Aetherplex, but I agree that the aethershop (where you need to have 3.5mil gold out if you're buying a new manse) should be just because if you happen to get jumped there you'll lose all that money and I don't trust the goodness of players' hearts to give back a veritable fortune. if only because avid PKers will find alternative means of killing players and I'm sure I prefer all the action to be at the Aetherplex because I can clear out of there if I need to or plain avoid it altogether.
EDIT: Fixed, didn't see that post. Doesn't change my answers, though.

Why?
Honestly, the only big reason it's the aetherplex is because it's a major traffic zone. Nobody is going to ass themselves to walk all the way up the peak when they only have to move 5 rooms from their city to go kill newbies/griefers/what have you.

You don't drop gold in inventory. It's been that way for several months now and was already mentioned once on this thread.

I'm in favour of having someplace where i can buy something in peace.. the aetherplex should be that.. so maybe, peace one room of it.. then the other rooms can be the warzone..
But -- perhaps this is just a phase and we will all grow tired of it..
Or: Lets raid more!!! Then the aetherplex will be peaceful again... *sagenod*
But actually: You really see who really wants a fight in there.. where the loses are heavy and there is no conglutination.. hehehe.. some people dont even want to duel on prime.. gah! pretending to want to fight when there are friends but faced with the question of duel on prime.. backs away..

It's fine as is, but I hate when people use it to duel at, it's quite irritating for those passing through to see a full scale battle.
Lyriell2007-12-20 15:11:16
Please...peace it. When Lyri was fairly young, level 40 something she was jumped there and killed multiple times for merely being an enemy to Glom (a mystery to me since she's never been told why she was enemied even after asking multiple times and has never raided). This is completely unnecessary.

I am very fond of the aetherplex being a place of battle and possible jumpage. How else can you seek revenge against some people?

Daganev, I feel completely betrayed by your signature. I really wanted to know how many five year olds I could take in a fight - and it never gave me an answer.
Hazar2007-12-20 20:50:35
Peacing the aetherplex would be another ridiculous step into the kiddy pen. Someone griefing your newbies at the Aetherplex? Get a hunting party together and smack them down.
Harden up!
Harden up!

It doesn't give me any score at all. I click the What's My Score link and I get some stupid dating site. It's tricksy and false!
Daganev2007-12-20 20:57:52
edit: Ok, signature fixed, it will take you to the actual site now. (p.s. don't use the code they give you at the end of the quiz)
Veonira2007-12-20 21:04:22
I really don't think we need another peaced room. I don't think people have been ganking newbies either so I don't see the problem. I've seen some younger citizens ganked, but then I've learned that they were fighting /egged someone on / whatever.
Rakor2007-12-20 21:23:07
It's fine as is. If you don't want to risk getting killed, don't sit there. You can get from the Aetherplex to a manse instantly so I really don't see the problem.
Gwylifar2007-12-21 14:42:46
I like the idea of a separate peaced place that you could do PORTAL SEARCH SHOPS at, and enter all the manse shops at, while leaving the Aetherplex as it is. Maybe Trader Bob could open a shopping mall behind his store. The only good argument for peacing the Aetherplex is it's the only place in the world you can search and access all manse shops, so making it dangerous means making manse shops worth less while they still cost way more. A separate portal behind Trader Bob's shop that just gave access to manse-shops from a peaced location would solve this without taking away any conflict options.
