All my alts are dead, after my long (forced) absence from Lusternia. Selverad is still going strong, but clad in leather with a borrowed claymore instead of his trademark hammers.

Now, I'm thinking of starting a monk. But Glomdoring (my preferred alternate home, for now) doesn't -have- a monk guild. Magnagora's guild is the most attractive to me at the moment, with their Stealth ability. I may start one there, since I wouldn't mind living in Magnagora. Since Stealth is the reason I want to be a Monk (I use Nexus, and am a terrible fighter... I tend to try to choose my characters for their non-PVP usefulness) Magnagora seems to be the logical choice, unless Glom is soon coming out with a monk guild using Stealth.

If I wanted to start a stealthy monk spy, what races and tradeskills would be helpful?

Aslaran and Krokani seem to be good. Tae'dae wasn't I was one

But wait until they get the bugs out of the stealthiest skills. Since right now, a 10p skill is blown by simple greetings. But soon it will be more fun.

So, for a stealthy monk, Aslaran or Krokani? Not one of the weird new races that are supposed to be monkishly aweseome?

What about tradeskills? Only one I've ever used is forging, and I'd rather that this one be a bit more useful to me.

I was thinking that would be the case, and they'll probably have the Stealth skill. I would hope so, at least... right now the only 'stealth' skill I know of is Totembond Night, which seems that it would follow that, thematically speaking, Glomdoring would have stealthy monks. Or maybe I'm crazy.

I guess I should just wait to start my alt, then?

Or just make two alts. one in magangora now, and one in glomdoring later.

Well, I just started working on my Aslaran Magnagora alt.

At least this way, you can get used to the idea of having an alt in a guild that is going through so many changes currently. That way, you'll be prepared for the same thing if you do decide to switch over to the Glom monk guild...

True. I'm also getting a glimpse of the Poison tradeskill.

Huh. Glomdoring monks could have a Fanatic skillset. Make them have reduced bleed damage, resistant to other poisons. That would be pretty cool.

Glom monks are getting a really cool weapon. I am not sure if I am at liberty to tell you, but just know that Glom is probably gonna be one of the best monk guilds. The reason I say this is they are the last guild to be made. And in being the last guild, they will have seen what works and what doesn't work for monks in general, and will be prepared to handle their guild better. Now this is an assumption on my part, but none the less, they should have learned from all the other guild's past mistakes to make their guild awesome. That and Kaervas is working on them, so enough said.

And yes I can at least say they should be getting Stealth. Its a simple deduction to make. Their are two specialized sets. Harmony/Stealth are the names and well 2 guilds already have Harmony and only 1 guild has Stealth. So yeah glom monks will have stealth and their skillset.

I am infected with the I don't remember what is common knowledge and what isn't and if you were in the same position it is wiser to err on the side of caution, instead of making some divine angry because of your loose tounge.

Yep, yep! I would agree with you!!! I never can remember what people are supposed to know and what they're not, so I just don't say anything and then I'm just on the safe side in general. Yay!!!

Man, I'm really torn. I'm liking the sound of Glomdoring, but I'm making so much progress with my Magnagoran that's going to be wasted if I decide to go with Glom....
