I don't know-- I'm getting more of a feeling of bias from comments like, "Hey, don't address problems with my class because there may be one with yours!"

Just having a third party nerf skills of an organization without any actual testing and all speculations with a new monk, myndaen whos a shofangi that isn't even a monk for tahtetso, Isn't gona solve anything.
I can still keep you unbalanced in later forms, all this time and you will moan sooo much more if we ever do battle.
You are not an envoy of tahtetso, your not an envoy of a monk guild, Myndaen is envoy for Shofangi.
"Sort out yourself before tending to others"
Even desitrus brought up bomolini, the time he was envoy and no changes has happend to tahtetso in 2+ months. The problem is inherited from kata speed, in which it picks up in, you can do any 'disabling' combo with any other monk with enough ka, to pull of the same trick.
And if you try to compare bomolini vs throw & hold, throw i'll be glad to inform you that hold is more reliable, does more damage cause your ensured for prone.
It doesn't cut of your damage, it increases it and makes it more reliable. (So whatever backthoughts myndaen had justification for nerfing our bomolini for that is whacked)

More of the same.
Grapples are 1) Restrictive to a Monk's offense, and 2) Far less disabling than being permanently off-balance. If you are using, in every form, grapple/throw/hit, you're down to 1/3 of your active afflictions/damage (and then increase that 1/3 by 50% due to the prone-- it's still less than it would be otherwise). If, however, you're doing throw/hit/hit, you're not doing perma-grapple.
However, you'll find earlier that I had a 2-part solution. Fix bomolini, and establish set times for monk forms (which has already been discussed with the admin as well). Finally, envoys are responsible for game balance overall. I've already said that the issue you brought up with Warriors is up for review, so trying to say, "Hey, you can't fix my class because I enjoy being overpowered" (which is exactly what "I can easily keep you permanently off balance" is saying) isn't going to fly.
I also believe we've both made our stances very clear on this matter as well, so if you're going to bring the same stuff up again, I won't bother to reply. My counters are up above. Have a Merry Christmas!

Bomolini is bugged and has been submitted as such. It isn't a "balance issue" (no pun intended) because it is supposed to function like wind, but it actually doesn't. Like some other bugs, it seems to be taking a while to fix. Brokenose stun is a similar issue and it is actually the old BC brokenose not scaled from the size/dmp, but I hear that report finally got submitted. The admins are aware of both issues as far as I know, so just /twiddlethumbs until they change it.
To Ilyaryin, you can get away with Stance Upper if you use combatstyle defensive. Seems to increase my dodging quite a bit from testing against just normal stance upper or vitals.

I agree with Xenthos, that much stun in any class, especially monks, is excessive. Do we need it to kill? Nope. Does it improve the general combat for yourself or anyone else? Not really. Only real problem with balancing bomolini is that currently we speed up, so if you lower chance/stun time it weakens it in the start of the kata but still might allow for constant stun in the later part of the kata. Course, stun on the whole is being looked at, so perhaps that will affect bomolini in a positive way as well. Oh, Aniri, you didn't pull that out on our spar. New way to kill?
Eldanien2007-12-25 16:31:17
Forms only 'speed up' after the first. First form, long delay, second form.
Second form to third is faster. All other forms from here on are identical in speed, excepting differences in forms that would affect their individual balance times.
You can test this by creating one form and repeating it all eleven times. The only difference in balance times you'll see is first to second. It's about twice as long.

The part that said contact system administrator.
And then I read the rest of the responces in a new light. The echos are just so lenghtly and official sounding, and there is no way you can read that in a fight

About 90% of the echoes beginning with ':' are just debug at the moment, which can be turned off with an alias, since I've been having some trouble lately. When it's finished and stable, it will hardly echo things atall.

haha, monk vs. monk bomolini whoring is hard. Ninja or tahtetso alike. Especially against acrobats (bard too) Dodging. but i tried it against monks. Chuuti screws it up (if i dont cure it) and dodging really screws it up. But i try not to whore it in duels or spars (exception: Mag raids for 6 hours straight.. thank tirenae on that one. Me and him raped Daevos on PPK and Bomolini polevaults). But that was more of a test, Barendur wanted to see if i could kill an ascendant by whoring Bomolini. Needless to say, It works.

Not gonna read the whole topic, but just so everyone feels a little happier, bolimi is being nerfed.. it wont allow this anymore by far.
On another note.. yes not lettin someone even tumble out IS OP since your damage gets higher and higher... also rather insane...
Also OP...
Greatsword = damage weapon
What stops him from insta double tendon and moving straight to amputate?

Holding an ornate greatsword wreathed in white fire poised at an angle overhead,

above your left heel, and you scream in agony as it's completely severed.

The whole 4 power per assault thing.
