Hope you all had an interesting time (at least!) with the near fatal collapse of Lusternia at the hands -- er, pseudopods? -- of Great Muud! It was certainly a hectic time behind the scenes, more so than usual as last minute changes were being done at what seemed to be a constant pace! Also, I hope you enjoyed the Story of the Sleeping Child and the quirky Village of Duum.

As for Ascension Event 2008, we plan on running it the same as last year, though feel free to give us constructive feedback from last year's event.

Only feedback I can give is that if you run it the same as last year, there are going to be a good amount of players who simply can't feasibly get to the events because they're asleep at the times you run them. If you spread them out throughout the day, or at least throw one or two to other timezones, it'd be a lot better, though it makes sense if you want to keep the bulk of it open to Americans since they're the main part of the playerbase.

It's administrators who have to run the events, so the event times are tailored around when admins are available to host them. Given that the majority of our admins are from the United States, that's why you tend to see the slots at regular U.S. times.

The solution is clear.

Turn Nejii into an admin and make him run all the events.

Damn. Guess that means it's unavoidable then.

Woot! Nice. wub.gif Good luck to everyone participating. Can't wait, myself. :>
Eldanien2008-01-06 08:09:36
So I wonder, can one double-ascend?
Ilyarin2008-01-06 08:12:47
I would think that trying to ascend again wouldn't actually give off enough power to regenerate the Seals, so Ilyarin can't do it again this time. tongue.gif

But I'll still be participating. I need to keep the Seal of Life!
Ixion2008-01-06 08:22:17
Please consider making the medallion's tokens have some other benefit after this event, to include the ones from last ascension. As Ildaudid brought up, the current medallions are insanely too strong. The idea before was to have a perm karma blessing of that seal, and people complained it was too strong. Then it changed to the 2600cr artifact, which rest assured is immensely more powerful. Gigantic difference there. (sorry Shamarah I know the medallion holders are spoiled on them now but they really are too good, not to mention it's a slap in the face of all cubix and circlet holders). Simply put, admins please use this opportunity to balance it out.

That aside, I think it's awesome a new ascension event is being held, kudos! I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Edit: the event and such got me interested in playing again. Thanks for that too I suppose heh
Arin2008-01-06 08:25:28
What do they actually do now?
Shiri2008-01-06 08:26:29
So tempted to post "wrong" and nothing else for that minor detail in Ixion's post, but...

Yeah, he's right, change would be good.
Unknown2008-01-06 09:02:28
Is the seal of justice challenge going to be debates using words or influencing debates?
Krellan2008-01-06 09:03:31
influence
Saaga2008-01-06 10:44:29
I WANT TO PARTICIPATE BUT THAT'D MEAN SAAGA LEAVING THE GOD THAT GOT ME ADDICTED TO LUSTY. Buaaaaaaaaaaaah! Or, wait.. I'ma do what Ashteru does.

Act as an improved cubix and a circlet of lucidity (2600 credits in value)
Unknown2008-01-06 11:58:27
Hmm, what time was the last Ascension event held?

*has a vested interest, being Asian*

I'll take two, please.
