To be blunt, I think you are wrong. Your assumptions are logical based on what you have seen, but it doesn't seem like you've observed enough to fully understand how the quest and its effects work.
Then maybe this would be a good time to enlighten us? Just seems like if we all have this attitude, and you don't correct it with a bit more bluntness, the quest will just go to waste, and that would be sad.

I don't want to hand out quest info any more specific than I already have, as I think it defeats the purpose of finding out in-game. I do think the quest's rewards are sufficient that it is a very worthwhile quest for anyone to complete, however.

I hope so! I really want to be wrong.. It's such a wonderful quest that I'm sure took a lot of coding and effort on the part of the staff. I'd be happy to sit down with you in game and explain my understanding of the mechanics and how I came to my conclusions. Alternatively I could shoot you a message via the forums. Just don't want to go into detail about the process on the quest and so on.
Like I said, I'm really not trying to knock you guys: I absolutely love the quest, but unless I'm missing something glaring it's just not worth the heartache of trying to make it happen. This is epecially true because of the tremendous outlay of time required to get it up, just to observe it (with the full knowledge that it'll be downed by the Serens/Celestians while I'm asleep)

To be fair, since it has negative effects on several orgs, you should expect it to be downed. In fact it should be easier than it currently is (keeping Adelie dead is not a terribly difficult feat as you observed.)
You could only expect the counterquest to be anywhere near as hard as the regular quest if it didn't have effects that required people to take it down.

keeping Adelie dead is absolutely impossible against a remotely intelligent force, and even I have to sleep. The Soulforge should've been dropped a long time ago, but I'll chalk it up to lack of commitment/foresight on the part of the attackers. That trick should only work once, and shame on you if it works again.

RE: the first part, there's no need. I get where you're coming from. The quest has already been tweaked somewhat (partially based on your feedback and the feedback of others), but I don't think we're going to tweak further right now.
RE: the second paragraph, it seems like you've been working on the quest pretty constantly since it came out. My advice is not to grind it over and over - it will rapidly lose its interest and fun if you make it into a chore for yourself or others. At that point, you're probably going to experience depreciating returns on the quest rewards v. your time simply because it is no longer entertaining.
I agree that destroying Soulforge is vastly simpler than raising it, and I have no problem with that. It's a powerful offensive weapon, and I never expected that it would be up for extended periods of time unless the nexuses being attacked choose to ignore its effects. My suggestion is not to attempt to measure your success in terms of continuous uptime - the quest is not designed to be sustainable in that fashion.

Yeah, not sure how we stop tripleflashing then bashing Adelie. There is no way we can stop you getting into the room.

Well, the problem is that powerful offensive weapon is a very relative term. Siphoning 1000 power off Celest does "suck" but it has negligible impact in the long term. It's admittedly more powerful than raiding(cept for dropping a Demon Lord). The problem is raising it's not a subtle process.. After it's been up you've got plague, and there's the part where it's hitting every x hours, so they know it's up and it's back down as soon as you get that one shot.
I guess I'll have to brood on the matter, go over my notes and get a better understanding of the facets of this quest I may be missing, and the observations that I may be lacking(woohoo for guesswork).
I do appreciate the dialogue on the matter, either way. Good to see you guys are receptive to talking about this kind of thing

You can very easily keep me out of the room, and you can kill me once I get in. Think smarter, not harder, and consult Seren's pkers. I'm sure they can advise you
