Honestly I understand the need for surprises, and all the other games do it, but it'd be nice if we had more detailed stuff to look forward to besides "more monks" and race balancing..
Donno, maybe it's just me. Any chance we could have a poll about how people would feel in terms of the options.. (More info and a risk of not getting them in a given timeframe vs less info and the surprises)

Personally, I'd rather have the surprises. I as well really, really hate it when I promise something to someone and then not have the time/opportunity to fulfill it; it saddens me to no end. Of course, I don't want to be completely left in the dark! But just telling us "monks are coming", "racial revamp is coming" or "making changes to the Billy Bob archetype soon" is enough for me to keep up a smile and patiently await them ("them" = trill buffs!!!).
Oh, and thank you, Estarra, for the wonderful work and dedication you, and all the admins, put into the game. I enjoy the game by the truckloads (I'm supposed to be studying right now)! Even though I wasn't here for the better part of 2007 and when I came back there were so many changes I couldn't count, I like them all. A great job and do know that, although many players complain and whine and are never happy, we all love ya'!

I'd like to echo this! 2007 was awesome and full of great things and looking at it all laid out like that just kind of amazes me, cause of how much work it represents! So, thanks for that and I'm excited to see what's next!

I would also like to add my thanks, to Estarra and all the admins, for a great year. I really enjoyed my time in Lusternia during 2007.
Of course the exploring aspect is the bit of lusternia I enjoy most and 2007 saw the addition of well over 2000!!! rooms, in 9 brand new areas and many other updates to existing areas. I had great fun exploring and mapping them. Thank you.

Excellent, a look at the races! And now with all these new guilds, there's finally time to look at new specializations!
Iola2008-01-09 17:23:39
2007 is the year I started playing, and I can't say when I started playing I expected to either 1) play for very long, or 2) end up with Iola where she is now. It's all down to having such a great atmosphere created by both admin and players alike. Coming from That Other Place, it was so refreshing to join a group of people whose focus is RP and development. So thank you, players and admin alike, for creating such a great place to spend time - and especially to Tael, without whom I wouldn't have logged in for the first time at all.
Here's to another fun year!

Your positive feedback means a lot! Such support inspires us to do all the better! The opposite is true, of course. I have to admit when people post in a sarcastic, catty, mean spirited, angry, 'tough-love-tell-it-like-it-is' manner to get the admin to look at something, I sometimes just want to throw up my hands and give up. Alas, we are human after all. There's a lesson there somewhere that putting out positive energy reaps positive results, and negative energy returns negative responses. While we try to transcend the negative, there's no denying that the positive impels us to reach to greater heights.

I began playing this autumn, and I have to say that Lusternia is quite an enjoyable game. Far more colourful and living than any of the other IRE games I've tried. And in the short time I've played as Kira, I've managed to reach a far higher level on... well, everything. And unlike the other characters, I keep finding new goals to work towards, goals which can actually be accomplished because I'm not attacked or stolen from every second.
In short, thanks for the game. Hope I'm allowed to stick around another year.

Well it has certainly been a great year for me playing as well. Even if I do have to sneak around at work and can't play when I want to.
Unknown2008-01-09 19:54:06
Yeah, I'd like to throw my thanks in here too...
I've really enjoyed my time around here at Lusternia, although my schedule doesn't exactly permit to keep the hours that some of you guys do. Thank you so much for everything...
And with the races, hopefully the poor Tae'Dae will get some love?

Man, all of this came out just last year. Crazy. 2007 was a good time in Lusternia, all told. Thanks to the great admin team for all their work and dedication.
Looking forward to seeing so much change and growth in 2008!
Now I really want to play regularly again.

I hope this isn't directed toward me at all. Despite all I did was point out how pleased I was that races would be getting looked at (which I am, no sarcasm intended) I know the administration is doing a great job. Sure, people will bitch and moan, but really when you take a look at things overall there has been a massive amount of content added. And yes, while not all of it is perfectly balanced, what's been done in just the last year it's pretty impressive. Hell, I've enjoyed the smaller events that happened just in Mag, never mind larger ones.
More likely your post was aimed more towards Geb, who's just a negative nancy.
I much prefer the way things are going now to a stagnant game.

so anyway, enough of this BS bashing...
two questions, these would be nice to know..
A. Are any Divine showing up, who have either not been.. around.. or are new to the basin. cause, no offense, but we need more. I've noticed a handful of "unassigned" Divine, are they tests?
B. Are the Kephera/illithoids going to get any kind of bonus for monk ? They really should, if you think about it. OP? probably.. but why not?
Anyway, keep it up, everyone helping me have something to do!! Good work! Tell Roark you need a raise! And that He needs to put a copy of his book BACK into the aetherplex, please?

Past this, my only concern is that none of You have developed a time-compression machine to allow me to enjoy this and school at the same time.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, Roark's book is where it's always been; in the wall of his fulcrux.
About the Elder Gods; all of our staff, excluding the producers and co-producer (read: Estarra, Roark and Morgfyre) are volunteers. Being a god not only requires a lot of work and time, it can also be quite stressful, especially when you're in an organisation that gives you a lot of trouble. This is why volunteers move on and leave their gods behind, it is sadly quite rare for someone to enjoy the havens for more than one or two years, we currently prossess 2 volunteers that have been here for this span of time. New volunteers fill these old roles, but this takes time, as becoming a god is not something you do overnight.

Just lower your standards, and when people like me post saying "I'd love to be a volenteer god", send us an email, and secretly wisp us away.

right when i started, a copy of it was firesigiled in the aetherplex. Didn't even know what a fulcrux WAS at the time, but the book was.... interesting reading
