Does anyone want to play Stratego? I have Stratego.

I love that game.

I can remember villages reverting with shrines and statues of the previous holders still intact, virtually assuring they never changed hands.

Don't forget the anchored demesnes.

You know, as unfair an imbalance as this was, didn't villages tend to change over quite a lot anyway? Can't remember that aspect of it too clearly.

But now that you mention it, I remember a load of Magnagorans enemying Seren newbies to Fain's order so they could worldburn them in Stewartsville. I think we still won that one too. (+ every other org doing that etc. etc. whatever)
Munsia2008-01-12 06:32:44
Didn't they end up banning worldburn that day?
Shiri2008-01-12 06:34:01
They ended up changing the "shrines and statues stay in there" mechanic that day, yes. I don't think banning worldburn came until much, much later with the shrine and order revamp.
Munsia2008-01-12 06:35:59
Pretty sure like mid influence battle there was an announce about not doing it or something
Veonira2008-01-12 06:41:47
I remember village influencing when I would hold the demesne and see my suspect list get huge as I used my demesne summon and pwned them.

I remember when we didn't conglutinate in villages.

I remember when Daevos used to forget that wimpy mages like Arilyon and I were following him when he raided guards.
Arix2008-01-12 06:51:14
I remember demesne summon, when Mags would meld most of the road southwest of the Tridacna gatehouse and summon anyone who left the city
Munsia2008-01-12 06:52:23
I remember I got enemied to the Geomancers because Ravin made a demesne that circled the entire mountains and I broke it all tongue.gif
Hyrtakos2008-01-12 06:53:50
I remember always being demesne-summoned in between stonewalls and just left there unable to do anything without tumble. ohmy.gif
Arix2008-01-12 06:54:14
I remember when you had me forest all of Avechna's Peak so you could meld it, and then getting yelled at by one of the Divine afterwards
Munsia2008-01-12 06:55:03
I remember that I got enemied to Magnagora because the higher ups in Serenwilde changed my title to a nihilist novice title so that I could infiltrate the zoo! (But I was a high elfen so they saw right through me!)

blink.gif Woah, don't think I ever heard of that one before. Wouldn't you have had leap though? Or was this on some Celest alt?
Hyrtakos2008-01-12 06:58:13
Yep. Celestian. It was a nifty trick. Only truly mastered by Kaervas eventually with divinefire/chasm when it wouldn't drop on aggressive actions... though he normally used barrier. Heh
Shiri2008-01-12 06:59:49
There's another topic. I remember when titans/demigods were completely insane. Wish I'd gotten tclap before they nerfed it.
Hyrtakos2008-01-12 07:03:39
For that matter... I can remember when I was excited about becoming a demigod. Then they took away half of the reason I got it.

Make havensing doable through distortion and monoliths again!
Arvont2008-01-12 07:18:14
I remember when I always had full-colour dreams, with no text dreams at all...cry.gif

Even worse... I don't remember not having text dreams
Diamante2008-01-12 08:58:04
I remember old astral mobs dropping 250+ per, leveling from 50-75 in about eight hours.

I remember doing 5600 damage to tauren Icarus in fullplate with two lunges, instakilling him from full health.

I remember being forged the most ridiculous damage broadswords in existence after my broads were stolen in a raid on nil.
240 164 164 each when I had runes/drawdown/coal.

I remember the old Shayle, before the corruption undergone as Queen of the Night. So innocent, so sweet. <3<3<3.

I remember Eiru, Jadryga, Alger, Teranas, Icarus, and all the other awesome people of old. ((Alger and Jad are doing great, btw, if anyone's curious. Can pass along a message for ya))

I remember Hajamin back in the prime days of the Veradin. Awesome stuff.

I remember gorgogs giving out 500 or so gold apiece back when the quest first opened, farming it for like 100k+ in a single day.

In that vein the original Krumkindivia and the absolute sexiness that place was before it was nerfed.

Awesome old-style moonbeam.

Rebounding haymakers for the behead.

Serenguard champing it up.

Bringing the whorishness of the Truemaker to life (no longer possible now, I think)

25 str, 24 int, 25 con, 22 dex, 23 cha not being impossible to obtain if you worked hard enough back then.

Having over 14,000 health.

Old beckon to bash kill like 50+ guards in the mining villages.

Back when you could do tosha over and over because the spirits counted towards the quest.

Being given a pair of nice rapiers when Lusternia first opened.

Subsequently -decimating- newbies in Newton from Magnagora, fight like 5-6 at a time and somehow rocking the House because none of the "good" fighters back then could get in to defend the other little bastards causing trouble.

Days when 315 speed rapiers existed.

Pre caps, for that matter.

The day when Tuek's player was hit in the nuts by a milk carton thrown from half-way across the campus. (Went to high school with that bloke.) Too bad you guys couldn't have been there.

Soooo much more I could write, but my fingers are numb from the cold. G'night!
