Well, first real day. I think I switched on Friday and haven't really played since. Been working on my Alias' and what not all day and finally got some pointers for combat. All criticism is welcomed!

Use flare to stick an afterimage before you use rainbowpattern and hypnoticpattern. You have to watch your power to see when it sticks. Echo Faeleaf and Earwort eating. You aren't as effective without the afterimage. Also, use colourburst, and those two would have fallen for good illusions. Watch for the recklessness colour to hit(I forget which one it is) and watch for them to cure it. Bard fights turn into minorsecond spamming. Transfix and whittle down their doppleganger, transfix when they writhe.

Did you even have your songs up? If you didn't, bad. Very bad.

Edit: You were deaf against Noctu. As a bard, you should never be deaf unless you are running from another bard. Your songs are very very helpful, but usless if you are deaf

I don't even know if my songs stayed up, still ironing those kinks out.

5) Against noctu your bleeding was hurting, which is because you werent deaf. Doest captivate make you only hear your own songs still?

As for the music, i have truehearing up for almost the entire fight.. having only been blanknoted once.. Im also testing what is the best course for a bard.. earwort or no earwort..

Also, I see that luxi has writhed free of his transfixation in his log, however -- i did not see the line "Luxi has writhed free of his transfixation" in mine. Why is that? I saw the very same thing vs Incabulos.

However, i sparred some people and I have seen the unwritheline.. Actually have triggers for it too to mark when i can transfix again.. very strange.. have anyone seen that?

If someone is cloaked (form highmagic yesod or other skills), some of their actions are hidden. You can imbue Shadowlight in your song to have it uncloak others and cloak yourself.

My tip is something I think most new bards forget. DISPELL. It's fantastic. let them use all their power with rainbows and hypno and whatever they want. Dispell yourself repeatedly. Then, even better, dispell them. Get rid of their illusionary glamour. ectera. It's really a powerful skill that is underused.

The only glamour I dispel is Maelstrom. If you are both trans, there's a decent chance you will fail to dispel their glamour/illusoryself/what have you and it's a pretty long eq when you fail(really long, even for a mugwump). I have to disagree with krellan on this one.

And the dominate song. It's not that great. Maybe for special occasions, but over all...not too much. It's not like pooka or Nihilist dominate, it takes eq to use. That and my song is full of the effects that are much more useful.

And yes, if you see them eat earwort, Blanknote. It's a good stun and the eq time is super short.

Pooka doesn't take balance. Obviously you didn't figure that out in the thirty six hours you were an SD.
