I've heard rumors about being able to trigger sounds and such through zmud...

Is it possible to do so and if so..

Can you make a track to play and trigger off of room names you enter....

I have several sound triggers in my own voice.

When someone scries me. "Uh oh better watch out someone is looking for you."

When I get a letter. "Yay! I've got a letter!"

When someone sends me a tell. "Hey someone is talking to you, pay attention!"

That's awesome! It reminds me of people who have their phone "talk" to them-- my sister once set her boyfriend's phone so that instead of ringing whenever he got a call it was her voice screaming "PICK UP THE PHONE! TOM, I SAID PICK UP THE PHONE!".

I always thought using speech of short phrases instead of echoes for the most important things (like instakills) would be a good way to help sift through combat spam, but I never fought in a place where I could afford to have my computer talking to me, so I never got to try it.

How about for MUSH?

That would get really old really quick unless you turn it on before you go afk, and turn it off when you get back. blackeye.gif

In the 'edit trigger' panel, there is a 'Sounds' group. You can browse for a sound to play when the trigger fires.

Funny enough, there's actually a guy who may or may not still be playing Achaea who is blind. Totally, 100% blind. Not only does he play Achaea, he's one of the top-tier fighters. As far as I understand it, his combat system uses different beeps and boops and whatnot that inform him of all the various afflictions and balances and everything. Tells and whatnot are all read in the lovely robot voice of a screen reading program, but I assume he turns that off while fighting.

I have sound triggers for...

Entering the Arena: "plays Mortal Kombat music"
Dieng/Loosing in the Arena: "FATALITY!!"
Mantra Chant/Mantra Status "the 'using a mana spirit casting sound' from Secret of Mana

and it looks like I may be moving back to mush soon for a few months... hrm.

That's bad, but cute

Okay that thing basically says I do a trigger and make the value #Play sound.wave

Can you play playlists? Where do these sounds have to be saved?

Actually, i think someone entering a room should trigger a sound

Fain = Magus' Theme, from Chrono Trigger

yeah, this isn't really what people started this post for, but i think it would rock
