In response to Laramos, I have done forum RPing in the past, and quite enjoyed it. However, as the people above have stated it doesn't have a place in the official Lusternia forums because it would be disconnected entirely from the game, and if it were RP related to one's character in the game it would weaken the IC/OOC divide, as that sort of roleplay is really meant to be done in the game. You're certainly welcome to set up an RP forum of your own based around the Lusternia setting. I actually think that's an interesting idea. Hmmm...

Something I've seen people do in other games is set up little websites (or use guildportal.com or such) for their guild or organization or whatnot and designate some or all of their forum interaction as meant to be IC. The good things about that are that it's nice for people (like me) who can find 5 or 10 minutes to post here and there throughout the day but can't really log into the game at that time, it tends to help build OOC bridges with IC enemies, it helps players in the same group who don't often see each other to stay connected, and it's fun as a creative exercise.

It's true that there's a danger of drawing RP out of the game and onto some other location, and that's a valid concern. For me, I tend to be able to log in only at certain hours, and only every couple of days or so, so I don't really feel the force of that problem the way others might, but I recognize the concern.

Well this is strange... why do all topics seem to fall into chaos and craziness at some point... maybe we could start selling topic insurance so that topics stay... on topic.

But while were on this topic which is off topic, I'd just like to put my word in.
Mainly this is a distraction, but now that I've gotten away, let me show you my work.

I am fervently against anything that further removes RP from the game itself. Too many people already treat it as a simple bashing ground with no real RP value. A separate Lusternia forum for just RPing further takes that aspect out of the game. So no.
