Unfortunately, this patch added more problems than fixes. I'm hoping soon for a patch for the patch.
Examples include invisible creatures, longer loading times, and delayed sounds, none of which happened pre-patch.

Nothing like the extermination quests when you can't see the creatures and you're firing at nothing, or even better yet, you can't fire at all!

This is why I never download a patch untill it's been playtested

No game will ever top Alpha Centauri. Not even Spore. Not even Civilization. If only it worked on my computer. Stupid Windows XP...

My personal favourite is still Albion. Was made for dos / win95. But I loooooove the story and the ending even more.

I envy you, then.

Just got spore... like the first two stages (Cell and can't remember the name of the next one... the one when you put legs on) best.
Tribal and Civ was OK but space is weird.

I'd been looking forward to Spore for ages and ages like a lot of other people. I had it predownloaded so that the minute it became available I could fire up the installation process. I spent the rest of the evening playing the game and have never even so much as opened it since that first evening. Most underwhelming game ever.
Sure the different phases are shallow, repetitive, buggy and extremely quick to get through but I could have lived with all that if those were the only problems. I could even grit my teeth and deal with having to stop everything and restart the entire program if I came across content that I wanted to ban. My main issue with the game is that the things you make don't influence anything about the game. They simply don't matter.
