EDIT: Speaking of which, I Saw Warhammer Online on sale at Target this morning. How is it different from the Warhammer the game?

Anyone else see the "The Future is Wild and The Making of Spore" special on animal planet? Well worth a watched. Basically AP invented a host of "what if..." creatures, profiled each, and gave a narrated segment with some CGI action shots.

I've gotten to the tribal phase so far (taking a break because I have my own addiction to attend to ), and so far I've had an alien encounter.

Hilarious when everything goes scattering towards the trees and you're out in the open with your pack followers scanning the skies for whatever the weird noise is.

It's a matter I wont remember by the time I go back to playing.

roughly how long does each stage last?

Do you make your creature, and then for the first level its just a cell? Or do you make your cell and it turns into a creature?

also, how does the point system work for creature creation in the actual game...

Its going to be months before I can buy the game, I might as well play vicarisously.

The time of each level depends on how fast you want to go through it, I haven't spent very long on any level so far. ( I just got to tribal and stopped, that doesn't count and took breaks on Animal)

You start off in cell. The creature creature seems to be there, but I haven't checked in any detail.

Point system is dependent first on what you eat as a cell and what you kill and eat, depending on whether your creature eats plants or meat or eats both. Then it moves on to making friends and hunting down creatures. Tribal I don't quite understand yet.

I thought tribal is based on your culture / how many other creatures you can recruit into your tribe or something like that?
