...You thought your ridiculous damage was fine as a Bard....

Hey, I was able to survive it. Also, that isn't relevant to Ninjakari offense. unsure.gif

You were able to survive your own damage?

Also, its relevant to the point you made that if you suddenly become dangerous to other people by switching classes, then something's probably wrong.

Said person jumping combat newbie and hiding in city after he prays to escape retribution = meh.

Wrong thread, Arix.

I laugh. Since he accepted the death, waited to pray till I had the head trophied, and did not in any way fight back. Myrkr was there to witness some of it in fact. It was a mark and he prefered to take some gold and just die for it. He did in fact die willingly.

I dont tend to jump.

It is even rarer I jump on prime.

Divinefire in enemy territory is lame, and just shows how duh (not dumb) Forren was.... he musta forgot I have aethersight.. guards were there before he arrived tongue.gif

Summary: Deal with it, the 'newbie' was a contract kill who said hey I will take an easy spot of gold. And who went along with it, I am all over you wanting to protect people, but the ones who die of their own accord you can leave be.

EDIT: By the way. I tried to urge him not to pray. Raikogen would have sacced for him if he paid a bit of gold (usually I would just give corpse for immolation but contract required a trophied head). Praying was his choice which is why he waited till I had the trophy to start. There was more than meets the eye.

And really its bad that Lusty has one of the highest skill reqs to get anywhere combat viable.

Mid tier cant be balanced without looking at top tier.

Lets up wounding so mid tiers can slay eachother better with fullplate, but wait they just OP's on everyone else.

You have to balance from the top or the top will be far too powerful. A few people right now are already KNOWN as OP, not just thought of as. A warrior with runes can insta tendon, insta slit, insta blackouts, etc. This is nasty and can easily lead to death, is it OP? Kinda.. if we balanced this for mid tier wouldnt top tier just be unstoppable?

He's had a problem with the Ninjakari since they opened, I'm not sure why. suspicious.gif

Anyone with a good enough axe/greatsword can do that. I don't see that as OP, seeing -everyone- can do it.

Hey, my guild was nerfed to hell, why shouldn't yours be?
Krellan2008-01-27 05:36:59
I'm still of the belief it's not the races fault compared to the base speed of the skills that are at fault. When was the last time you saw a top tier/high tier Moondancer/Nihilist who wasn't a mugwump (or possibly aslaran if they're a nihilist)? Probably not in the last year. What does that say when top tier fighters require a specific race? It means the skills aren't fast enough. I don't use shadowdancers or Celestines because the speed isn't a necessity for those two classes. Shadowdancers do not need to stick aeon nor actively drain mana and Celestines have had people play races like taurians and lobos. Someone who's bored with their current class please go out and prove me wrong. Go make a moondancer or a Nihilist and destroy people with elfen/viscanti/loboshigaru or whatever race has no speed bonuses that are utilised by that class.

Wait until racial revamps and faelings and muggys get nerfed to hell too..

BTW shouldn't this thread be closed since Ninjakari Offense and how to deal with it doesn't seem to even exist anymore? content.gif
Arix2008-01-27 09:11:33
I'd say 'nerf the crap out of it' is dealing pretty well

True, I can cut a tendon in one swing against cloth wearers, I have an unruned greatsword and I am not even tri-trans.

EDIT: using my power attack, that is.

I'm not saying don't nerf it. I'm saying, base it on a middle-ground, not min-maxed characters.

Don't turn Ninjakari into Mages/Druids (Need Staffcast) or Guardians (Need Symbols) or Warriors (Need Pinleg/Tendon) where you need to be near-trans, if not, AT trans to be viable in combat.

Bring on the racial rebalancing, already. I'm tired of being the only Illithoid in the Ninjakari.

I'm a warrior and I can't pinleg or slicetendon, and I do reasonably fine against similarly skilled/equipped players. (Nyaha, bonecrusher tongue.gif)

Gotta love thems power attacks. I use unruned morningstars and they are sexay. I will be most sad when they decay.

Um... I got sick of whoring knockdown, ringingear and stagstomp. Pureblade is more varied. I still have it, send me a tell and I will give it back if you want. But only if you give me back the steel! smile.gif
Ashteru2008-01-27 15:22:48

And that doesn't seem like a sign to you? You change guilds and suddenly fight better against people your own might then you ever have before? Interesting, considering you have a lot more experience in other guilds then monks. It looks to me like you're clinging to OP skills because you don't think you're good enough without them.

Lol this drips and reeks with hypocrisy

First of all, you're about a week slow, Revan beat you to it. By a lot. You should be embarrassed.

Second, even you have said I was a decent fighter before going bard. Yes, I got better when I was a bard, but that can be partially attributed to things such as my level being higher, my system getting better, and other people who admitted to not having decent bard triggers.

I said you were good before being a bard. I also said that you are very lazy, and you will take the easy path if it is given to you. You rather not challenge yourself, if you don't have to. Still, if a challenge is forced on you, you can rise to it. What this means about bards is that it did not require you to put any real effort in to being good, and your laziness makes that fine and dandy to you.

Now that bards may require a little bit more effort to be good, you may surprise people with your ability to overcome what other bards may think is a hindrance. I know you can do it, but that is only if you overcome your nature to be lazy about your offense and stick with the archetype.
