So just to clarify, the gist of this thread is saying that the warrior bashing equation isn't influenced by weapon stats (majorly) OR warrior strength?

:/

Weapon Damage is not important enough at max damage to be better than the fastest weapons. (i.e. speed is still the only weapon stat that really matters except for weaker mobs)

AND

Strength is not affecting bashing at all. Further nerfing the big but slow races.

The first part is Good, though. It gives forgers more business (people buy more weapon sets), and everyone has access to high-speed weapons. Further, high speed weapons are a heck of a lot cheaper than PvP weapons, which lets someone who is up-and-coming get a cheaper weapon to improve their hunting.

Its very good. I was worried that someone implied it was otherwise before. But now I'm happy again.

The strength thing though is really bad. Especially for races which get penalties on the assumption that hte extra strength is good.

Selfishly, I like it because, as an Aslaran, Akui is less impacted by lower natural strength, but benifits strongly from racial balance bonus. And swift stripes. And a max speed katana.

Objectively, if I were sitting around as a Tae'dae, or any big, strong AND slow race for that matter, I'd be annoyed.

So, I mean, I'd like to see strength matter, but only in such a way that whether you have a big, strong teddy bear of a character, or a fast but weaker one is a matter of preference and style.

Hi there.

Yeah, another reason why I switched from Tae'Dae... fun RP... great race... but dang if that speed totally killed me in PvP entirely.

Note: this is just a temp axe I made.

What's your strength? Maybe it makes a difference at low strength, but not high strength, or something. (Mine fluctuated between 19 and 21, iirc)

16 with flex.
Asarnil2008-01-30 09:58:58
I don't know where you guys are getting 6-8 hits with 190 damage weapons from. It takes me 11 hits as a 19STR krokani with 190 damage weapons to kill a kephera worker, where it takes 14 hits to kill krokani workers with 290 speed/60 damage weapons.
Hyrtakos2008-01-30 11:05:46
With a capped claymore, war blessing, and 21 strength... I kill kephera workers in four swings (one crushing-critical).
