OMG painting bardic skill set please!
I have some notes somewhere for one of these, though intended as an alternative tertiary. Not terribly fleshed out, just a rough outline; I essentially tabled working on it since even the idea of getting an existing skillset as a new tertiary seemed unlikely based on the reactions we got while talking about it in our OOC clan, and a whole new skillset seems even less likely.

It might just be me but golems really seem more of a mage and druid idea, always have just because they would be able to shape them out of their element/forest and it's a highly magical concept where the bards seem to have a more entertainer style to them.
Right, I forgot to mention it in my post but I was thinking more like giant Puppet-Golem type things. Where the Bard would go and carve them and add all these trinkets and baubles to them. Not like, just summon them out of nowhere. It would be like a giant moving sculpture kind of thing I guess. The main thing I was thinking would it would be sweet for Genos to have this big monstrosity made out of angel bones to be like a mock-Celestine companion. Then I could imagine him as this old decrepit creepy Viscanti gypsy type with a huge puppet to protect him while he plays songs and flings tarot cards. It's kind of hard to imagine him as old when he's bouncing around doing flips and such with Acrobatics.
I also thought about a painting skillset but as painting is already in the Arts I couldn't really think of a good way to make it super unique so it didn't feel similar to the Fine Arts skill.

I concur with this idea, if only because I enjoy the Genos imagery.

I rather liked how Imperian did their bard sketch skills. Sketching a mob dealt some small amount of damage to the mob, and incremented the 'completeness' of your sketch of that mob. After so many sketches, your sketch was finished. Killing a mob with a sketch attack made the sketch more powerful. The more complete a sketch was, the longer the sketch would last when used. Sketches could be colored in using inks to add afflicts.
Essentially, tear the sketch from a sketchbook and toss it at the enemy. The sketch would 'stick' to that person and attack as if it were the mob sketched. It wasn't identical, but usually dealt out the same kinds of damage/afflicts of the original mob.
Bards could also sketch player characters, which would have attacks/afflicts depending on the character's guild and relative potency of the individual.
Not to say we need to duplicate that exactly, but it might serve as an interesting basic concept to build from.

What I would love to see is for bards to get a tertiary that differs based on what tradeskill they have. It would be a pricy skill, since you'd need both it and your tradeskill worked up, but it would mean for a lot of variety in one I-am-a-creative-artist type concept. Puppeteering would work, sort of like miniature fighting. Or some other means of using your trade skill to bolster your combat abilities.

When you reach Transcendant in your tradeskill, you get the SKILLCHOICE select option of choosing a new "common skill" based on that tradeSkill. (focused around the trans skill of that trade) So a bookbinder skillset would focus around the tome, the forging trans skill would focus around fullplate etc.

INVOKE SUPERTANK
'nuff said.

Cool idea, I'm thinking of a scene in Naked Gun where OJ's character slowly turns his pistol into a tank
But what would herbalists get that's not druidry.

Uh... we could make... powdered stuff out of herbs and other ingredients! To kill people with!
Would entail mixing ground up herbs into compounds we could then throw at people. Blinding powder, poison powder, flash powder, sleeping powder, etc. Could even have special stuff for treating wounds/afflictions (poultices?) or something. Hell, the transcendent skill would totally be something like making a bomb out of dried herbs.
Okay, so I've got nothing.

We already have it. Those are basically smudge sticks in Ecology.

I think there should be a skillset for demigods, maybe learn some of the divine language or somehting, rip this idea apart as you please!
Umm, please ignore that, it sounds really stupid now that I think about it...
