Whatever the next class/guild is (and honestly, do we NEED anymore? We have quite enough), DO NOT give it to every org. Make them totally unique.

You eat a bog of myrtle leaf

XD. Ok, that's great and all, but I'm still holding to the fact that ranged attacks that're area wide are teh suck.

Not too hard if you restrict it from really being area wide.

Area wide is like a demesne or something.

I just want it to be restricted to areas you can squint to.

Nah making the guilds unique is a beautiful thing... It makes people pick sides and then if they want to change guilds, they have to change cities and actually experience the game from a different perspective. Not just go to another city and be able to have basically the same skills

Only thing all orgs need are warriors IMO. The rest could do with some unique classes.

Of course it can't happen here now, since well, how would you take away bards from say Seren Mag and Glom and say that only Celest gets them now? A precedent has already been set for past orgs... But if new cities were ever to be released they could make each one have very special skillsets in which the only class that would be universal would be warriors.

I think we have enough guilds/archetypes for the playerbase.

It's like that now isn't it? Mag has their special skill and so does Celest, so I could put it out there more obviously that the new cities , the ones we know of, would also have different skills for warriors. Different ideals come with different abilities and attitudes . content.gif

Of course you make the guilds unique, but designing skillsets that don't even work on the same dynamic like nihilism/celestialism opposite wicca/taintwicca do is a lot of work and not worth it. A 2/2 dynamic so one pair of classes is as to nihilists/celestines (different but parallel) and one is as to moondancers/shadowdancers (different but parallel except choke) gives enough room for variety but doesn't take as much work.

It'd be especially cool if there would be a Seren-Magnagora and Celest-Glomdoring parallel. Seren-Celest and Magnagora-Glomdoring would be almost as good since Tahtetso/Shofangi vs. Ninjakari/Emofist only half cover that by being based on similar combat dynamics but with greatly different tertiaries.

Anyway...

Maybe you could choose to shoot arrows at a quicker pace with one skill that does little damage, opposed to heavy-damaging shots with arrows that take 5 to 10 seconds to recover balance?

Just an idea...

Also, I'm half-seriously considering that Psychology skillset. o_o"

Great Idea Myrkr cept the idea of missing and it hitting you ... WTF? I don't know about you but I'd move out of the way if i saw the arrow falling back towards me ... and it would have to be SHOOT SKIES AT TARGET tongue.gif

nerf the balance then you'll be fine... Justus in Imperian can kill people by perma stunning with the broad arrows ... which is just wrong...

Being able to have Acrobatics as a third Guild skill would be helpful then, wouldn't it? Or shielding before you shoot the arrow. ohyeah.gif

You shouldn't be able to shoot yourself at all.... sure if it hits off a shield... it might hit an enemy that would be cool but otherwise... hitting you? kinda hard to hit that exact point on a circular shield no? and same with shooting skies ... Why would you stand right underneath the person while shooting you'd need the arc. tongue.gif

I'm saying it wouldn't pierce the shield.

And the lack of need for an arc would be because... well... uhm...

Anyway, if you are in a room with others, it could have a chance of hitting them, I suppose. tongue.gif

Okies *gives Myrkr a gold star* Thank you for explaining it to me. In Imperian there are serveral different arrows, which of course would help fill the skill set of archery... one of them being a broad arrow that pierces shields and if their isnt a shield would stun... sooo if you aren't going to have different arrows... what would fill up the skill set?

I think the serpents in achaea have a few shooting skills, but not a whole skill set.
