Woops, Guest was me. Thought I was logged.

How are you judging writhe speed without a timestamp on the log? No matter how fast you scroll through the log the speed isn't going to be any different. JK

Anyway, I tested with Thoros once before the writhe speeds from impalement from largest to smallest and there wasn't any difference and if there was it was very, very slight. Nothing drastic, though.

You would think archlich would have some immunity to cold attacks. Maybe not complete immunity, but with them just causing passive chilling by being near them, you would thing the dead don't get too cold.

edit- Ill look for you tonight Shammy

Heh, yeah, there no real way of telling the writhe speed without a timestamp, I just thought it was faster bacause I get more spam while trying to writhe. confused.gif

Honestly that was a pretty lame fight. Aside from Forren's bug abuse to escape impale, a competant fighter knows that fighting a mage in demesne is a risk, so I applaud Thoros's brass ones. Unlike druids, mages can be insanely effective outside of and do not need a demesne. A couple mages come to mind that were brutal out of demesne and utterly intolerable in one.

P.S. Thoros get some herbs bro, for eatting.. not smoking. And some healing scrolls...

Wow, Ixion. Just wow.

You do realize that it in was this fight that I first discovered there was a bug, and then bugged it? This log was a few days old before I decided to convert to html and post it. This fight is why that bug was brought to light (hint: the thread you quoted was me asking what happened to the impalement!), and Announce 1011 says it was fixed just two days after this fight. Please check the facts before talking out of your ass and assuming I abused something when I in fact discovered a bug that, by my discovery, was then fixed.

As for demesnes - I once had Revan go wild on attacks against me in his demesne with me just standing there. I didn't die. I didn't even hinder him. A lot of it has to do with illusions adding to the effect, something which I have greatly dampened for my own curing.

I know, my fault for going into the fight unprepared. tongue.gif And even if I find myself unprepared -after- I gank someone I"m generally not going to run, since I started the fight.

I hate demesnes, I really truly do. Telepathy and telekinesis are insane inside a demesne, phantoms+ reality + claws + 3 different psionic channels for attacking + demesne = insanity. But then get a mage with runes or dreamweaving and they are horribly weak. It's these imbalances which make me hate the game more and more. ...Maybe one day.... confused.gif

If impale was bugged (the only good BM skill in the game) this the log of this fight is rather null/void.

You'll never quit you big griefer you.

@Ixion and yeah, Forren's the one who got that bug fixed so quick. What, 3 days?
Malicia2008-02-02 23:08:30
I thought, and correct me if I'm wrong, bug abuse was considered intentional, willful use of a broken ability or game function and failure to report it? Or is Ixion just being Ixion?

smile.gif

Interesting log. Nice try there, Thoros. You're still the most wicked BM.

Mostly right-- but failure to report it isn't part of the package. You can report something, and keep abusing it-- it's still bug abuse.

But yes, here Ixion is being Ixion.

Yeah - lucky for me, we didn't even know about this bug when the fight took place!

I've never found telepathy and telekinesis to be bothersome overall. The only thing that annoys me about Telepathy is Psivamp and its willpower drain component. Other than Psivamp, psionic mages are not a bother to me at all in or outside of their demesne.

I will point out that effective use of currents can make it very hard on me to maintain an offense, but on the other hand it will also make it impossible for the mage to effectively harm me. Most who use it in a manner that keeps me moving, soon realize they will never win doing it.
