im kind of a newbie, eventhough im level 30, but one thing i noticed is that its really difficult to make a decent amount of gold, im sitting on about 3000 right now and it just keeps getting less and less because i have to buy health potions to be able to fight monsters in my level range.

my trade skill is a blacksmith but i have no clue how i can sell the weapons i make (or is it only meant to help yourself?).

ive tried going to delport, estlebar, shanthmark and stewartsville but had no luck finding any work sad.gif

please help me out guys, how can i make money in this game?

Quests are pretty good for money. You only have 3000? Try training rockeaters at Dairuchi. It should be pretty easy to figure out. Later on the fastest way to make money would be to hunt monsters whose corpses you can trade in for gold. But since you're a warrior and newish I'm guessing even hunting the easy stuff might not be that good.
And no, forging is not good for making money. Unless you have a hammer and you're forging while doing RL stuff like homework where you wouldn't be able play lusternia normally.

There are plenty of ways to make money as a newbie, fret not! smile.gif

You say you didn't find work in the villages, but I'm not sure how you looked for work. All you need to do is, for example, pick up chickens and take them to either the local butcher or animal keeper (i.e. Percy in Delport). You can also hunt cows on the highways and take them to butchers or tanners. Depending on your race, you can hunt rockeaters in the mountains and take them to jewelers in the villages (lay off the moose though, they're much too tough for level 30). Get waterwalk/waterbreathe and hunt trouts in the rivers, giving them to fishmongers afterwards. All this is just doing commodity quests for villages!

Then, you can also lead scholars and bards to your city/commune's library and stage, respectively. You'll find them in the outer mountain rings, the same place as the rockeaters. Alternatively, when you wander the highways, you can find wandering pilgrims whom you can take up to Avechna's Peak. I suggest you take a look at at the maps on the main site (under Library\\Cartography) so you won't get lost (though you most likely will at first, don't worry smile.gif ).

You can also do your village/commune power quest. If you're Celestian, it's terribly easy to do it, just read CHELP SUPPLICANTS, get a shovel and be amazed at the large amounts of money you can make. If you're Magnagoran, I hear it's a bit more difficult though. If you're from a forest commune, I have no idea what to tell you. tongue.gif

Also, like MrShrimp said, you can do Honours quests, each village has one and the rewards are substantial! For example, the Stewartsville quest can get you 5000 gold if you get it right (it may be dangerously deadly if you get it wrong though, that's the beauty of it! wink.gif )

I think the most important thing you should understand is this: DON'T PANIC!

Also, try investing some lessons into influencing. I'm not sure how esteem is for newbies but I'm sure it can't be that hard. If you go around begging mobs you can get gold that way and once you get 100% esteem you can imbue it into a bottle (best use a bottle at least) and sell it for 10k+

I'm sitting on 500k right now based off of influencing

edit: I generally find it the cheapest way to level up as well. Although if you lose an ego battle, it hurts like hell on your xp, but you're only using bromide. It reduces potion costs vastly.

It's really not that hard to get gold if you know where to go.

Sorry, just woke up.

Some prime bashing and aetherbubbles are great gold, and that's how I usually get mine.

Not even if you know where to go, it's practically given to you if you just do stuff.

Yeah - if you set out bashing, you're going to make lots of gold over time.

(It looks like I'm talking to myself.)

Village quests are pretty simple, and cities and communes have their own little quests that anyone can do for small (but easy and repeatable) amounts of gold. Lead a cow to dairy, take a dead cow to a butcher or tanner, pick up a chicken and take it to a coop...

I always enjoyed doing Circles around the mountains

You can kill moose for xp
Kill rockeaters for Karma/gold/xp
Get scholars and Bards for Karma/Gold/Xp

Before the nerf, the easiest way of getting gold was by doing the Python quest.

Now, however, try to bash/influence/quest. Hunting or influencing in the Moors is pretty good gold and exp., especially if you do both (the Moors is a famous place for bashing, though, and most times it's been cleared). Bards/pilgrims/scholars is good, easy gold, as each one gives around 100 gold. There are about 16 pilgrims, and less than ten but more than five bards that roam around the roads.

You guys aren't paying attention.

He's level 30. Aetherbubble hunting, selling gorgogs/illithoid/kephera/etc. are all out of his range. For that matter, depending on his familiarity and ability to hunt effectively, krokani and aslarans are probably out-of-range too.

All of the suggestions about quests are good, pilgrims/scholars, rockeaters, and commodity quests aren't bad. The downside is they are not as good for experience as hunting. To be honest, I usually just raise as much gold as I can as a novice in Newton, then use that gold to pay for all of my potions until I get to a higher level and can hunt krokani and aslarans in Grey Moors effectively.

Might be a book in the libraries that I published...ways to make gold. Has a list of wanted mobs and bountiers.
Arel2008-02-01 21:19:43
30 is a good level to start hunting the orc braves and maybe archers in Shallach. They can be sold to Krangar on the lower level for decent gold and they are great experience.

I started Moors at level 30, with the hit-and-run style... confused.gif

For someone new to IRE and Lusternia, doing something like the hit-and-run method, probably isn't a great idea because it's hard to keep up on it.

*chuckles* that said... it's a great skill to learn as well...
