Best Defense

Fine, fine. But I would still argue that Heretic/Infidel is hindering!

I'm going to go with Bards as my choice. Dodging at a critical point in the opponent's offensive setup is incredibly annoying (I <3 Execute), various hindering skills in Glamours, and if you ever start to lose, you can either Tripleflash OR Maze to regain lost ground.

I don't see why Night is better than Moon in terms of defense.

Nightkiss and Drawdown provide the same DMP.

Moon gets Full and Waxing, however, whereas Night only gets Drink. They should, at the very least, be equal.

Night's aura also has a very nice dmp to poison as well as magic. There's also Shadowdance flight. Full is green by averages 1 more aff cured and 1 less power.

I've got a question about ninja's. They have that one skill where you can wrap your chain around you as a shield and it knocks unconscious against attackers for a good period of time. Limitations on that? Or the AB file would be good enough too.

It costs 5 power, ends after 15 seconds or so, and ends if you do ANYTHING. And if you damage a person who was knocked unconscious by it, the unconsciousness ends.

Tripleflash is useless for a bard. as if you have spent 10power on dodging attacks you already have no offense and can do what attack with colourburst?

It's a great skill for monks, But for bards it just isn't usable.
Xavius2008-02-05 06:03:46
As unusable as serpent for power intensive classes.

So it's as unusable as trueheal, then.

Maybe for a Celestine yes, for a paladin no.

I thought we were asking for best defence without bringing any offence into it? So what has having no power to do anything else while you are basically immune to most attacks got to do with this?

'cept you can, since trueheal was only excluded as a specific rule for the poll. Tripleflash is a perfectly legitimate overpowered skill to be talking about.

Krin, haven't you been a warrior before? Don't you know what lunge and skills like it do? I'd advise being careful, pretty soon you're going to start sounding as bad as Celina.
Unknown2008-02-05 06:30:13
Lunge is simply a shield breaking with a little wound buff. It isn't even close to what i based my offense on. About the best it did for me was give me my little oomph for an insta pinleg. although im speaking from the perspective of a blade master maybe the other specs are more power intensive? i don't know.

Why am I arguing someone who believes that a mage is constantly summoning a Taintwyrm?

Ildaudid and Hyrtakos need a hobby that's not talking about me.

Tripleflash isn't AS useful for monk, but it saved my butt more than once. Priceless for team combats where bards tend to get targeted fairly early and all you do is spam minorsecond anyways.
Noctu2008-02-05 07:32:11
Just recently got tripleflash and I keep forgetting I have it.. although, when i looked at my spars, i do not think i can use it without sacrifing a big part of my offense.. keeping ten power at hand is harder than it appears..

however, in group combat i imagine it will be really nice.. mhmm..

And also, there was a time when I faced a monk who went all hyperactive on me.. if I had tripleflash then, i would have gone all tripleflash on him..

Hyperactive monk vs. Tripleflashed bard. Somehow, I find this funny laugh.gif
