Does the type of weapon affect how you parry, or any of the stats matter at all? info please.

I'd say no. Your chance to parry is based on your parry weight only. If you have the ability to riposte/coule, your weapon stats will matter when you hit the person in retaliation, of course.

As far as pure weapons stats go for parrying, nothing I've read or heard. As Zarquan said, riposte and coule are basically just attacks generated by your high skill in Blademaster or Bonecrusher, but other than that there's nothing special.

It's possible that a high dexterity helps with parry, and I've heard (*don't quote me on this*) that your skill in Combat has a secondary effect of increasing your chance to parry weapon attacks.

Of course, your skill in Knighthood and whichever weapon spec you went into will decrease parry/dodges, and Axelords and Pureblades have HeftyAxe/Sword which increases our chances of bypassing parries (as well as decreasing the weapon's stats a few seconds).

From personal experience, after I Trans'd Combat about a week ago, I've seen an increase in parries vs. warriors and weapon attacks from monks. You can't parry unarmed attacks, but you can still dodge them. I remember sparring a Ninjakari before I trans'd combat, and then again after trans'd, and I parried at least half of his weapon attacks the second time around. It wasn't exactly a fair fight; we were roughly the same level, but he was only Virtuoso Ninjakari, I was Trans Combat, Resil, and Axelord.
