What was that poison? Kephera resists should be 30%, same as 60/60 armour. Your tested numbers are off by almost the exact amount for sensitivity.
Ilyarin2008-02-14 12:05:31
I don't think it's sensitivity (though it does look like it), because he remained deaf. That said I'm still tempted to test this myself so I'll post up my results later.
Malarious2008-02-14 12:06:05
The tail does charybdon.
If he had truehearing (he shows as deaf) that would strip instead of getting sensitivity.

I recently just switched to Female Kephera and am sporting a set of splendor robes that are 77/63. I've fought Thoros, Geb and Sojiro. Thoros and Geb both have troubles against me, Sojiro on the other hand can kill me fairly easily due to low blunt resistance (and I suck).
I personally love kephera coupled with splendors. Does it make me invincible? Absolutely not.

Oh no no. I watched you fight Thoros. That was the definition of invincible. 20 minutes he wailed on you, and you didn't even have Wounds.
edit: are you sure Kephera doesn't reduce wounds? When I was one I always seemed to take less wounds from Vathael. I could be crazy though

Kephera has always been better, nothing has been made to fix it yet. Coupled with splendor robes you get a hell of good race without any disadvantages.
Ilyrian please retest and post the results though.
And yes Tae'Dae in fullplate would be better on resisting damage/wounds. The tae'dae have disadvantages to being tanky.
Kephera:
Advantages:
level 3 Resistance to blunt damage.
level 3 Resistance to cutting damage.
level 2 Resistance to psychic damage.
Mindsense Sense others in the local area.
Hive Mind This special ability allows female of level 50 and above to declare themselves queen and form hives. Any non-queen kephera (male or female) may be part of a kephera queen hive. When bonded with a hive queen (female kephera level 50), everyone in the group gets extra health and mana and ego (extra 50 health/mana/ego per kephera bonded in a group when in the same area as the queen). If the queen dies, the hive is broken. All members must stay within the local area.
Disadvantages:
Not being able to wear armor (which is actually a joke since they can wear splendor robes which make the armor null/void
Tae dae:
Advantages:
tae'dae Have a racial language.
Does damage when performing a BEARHUG.
level 3 Resistance to cutting damage.
level 3 Resistance to blunt damage.
level 3 Resistance to cold damage.
level 3 Resistance to poison damage.
level 2 Resistance to psychic damage.
level 3 Heal faster from elixirs.
Disadvantages:
level 3 Slower balance.
level 3 Slower equilibrium.
level 3 Susceptibility to magic damage.
I don't know if it is just me, but it seems kephera are still your basic beefed up horkval who get advantages that other races get severely penalized for having.

As you Said, Tae'dae can also wear armour...have a huge sip bonus and a huge con, and resistance to almost every type of damage. Kephera just have physical and psychic(and the psychic sucks...when you get mindblasted, the only thing that is reduced is the health damage)...and pretty average con. Not saying Tae'dae is amazing...but if I was going for pure tanking...I'd go Tae'dae.

How is wearing armour meaningfull at all if the argument is that the "negetive" of not wearing armour is meaningless?
So basically, the speed penalty is to counter act hte sip bonus. And the faeling speed bonus is there because of the sip bonus

No. Sip Bonus for low con for faeling. Each race wasn't created with a basic template of add a stat here take a stat from there. If they would, they would be much more balanced. Though, I thing they are all pretty well balanced with a few exceptions (human, mugwump)
I forget where I'm going with this.
Daganev2008-02-14 22:31:19
it was a joke...
Ildaudid2008-02-14 22:54:18
My point is that Kephera have only advantages. If they were properly balanced, the no armor disadvantage would mean just that NO ARMOR of any kind.
The reason I showed the tae'dae at all was because although they have advantages. They are countered by severe disadvantages.
Why do Kephera get blunt/cutting damage yet no weakness to magic/fire/elec or something else?

Kephera have pretty crappy stats, but since stat-extremes were rebalanced, the crappy stats aren't all that bad. So... Kephera should have level 1-2 fire/poison/cold weaknesses.

My guess is that htey were designed when the game first was designed and never looked at since they. They figured they would look at all the races when al lthe monks are done, and so didn't bother time tweeking them.
Tervic2008-02-14 23:10:21
Not to mention that warrior is the only class that actually wears -armour- per se, meaning that the disadvantage to kephera really isn't a disadvantage, at least not until robes are coded as "armour".... Everyone else's general protection comes from great/splendour robes. Coupled with stuff like stoneskin and other damage-reduction that some of the other classes have to compensate, I can imagine a non-warrior kephera being quite resistant to physical damage.
Unknown2008-02-14 23:11:29
Celina: Thoros and I first fight was when neither of us had any power, so that one was not accurate. We sparred 3 more times and he beat me everytime (I'm still a newb in choke and getting use to manual applying). Geb on the other hand just went back and forth.
I think there is a TON of more pressing issues for "balancing" game mechanics rather than NERF KEPHERA. If the admins deem it necessary, they will probably fix it when they redo the races.

Ildaudid2008-02-14 23:20:53
Very true Luxi, there are alot of other things that need balancing first. The racial balancing was supposed to happen a long long time ago. I remember right around the first "warrior summit" they were talking about racial balancing. It should all be done at some point though. Especially with the whole thing where the low end stats end up seeming as powerful as the mid end stats.
Shamarah2008-02-15 00:12:45
I think kephera shouldn't be able to wear robes but kephera physical resistances should work against wounds. That would fix them.
