I was in calgary in feb, a whooping -45 sometimes...And worse when I was snowboarding in the rockies, nice mountains though. Then a few months later I headed up pakistan in the hot season for 50c plus of 90% humidity....Now im back home in London and it rains all the time again....Every day, most days, most of the season..Total rubbish

What is this you say about mah home?

Then living there, if you have ever been to anywhere else in Canada you would agree, Calgary is indeed, a horrible place to live.

I've been all across Canada, and I believe that Calgary is a fantastic place to live.

My Brother went from Toronto to Calgary. He's earning 20,000 more a year now, gets to believe he's a cowboy (despite being a total yuppie) He never looked back.

Calgary is indeed a hole.
I have lived in Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, and Rocky Mountain House.
Rocky Mountain House was beautiful for picturesque ranch life, I loved horse back riding up there and indeed miss it. My mom is living back up there, perhaps I will need to go visit some day.
Edmonton was just awesome, each section of the city was like its own little town. I also worked the Casino in West Edmonton Mall which was just crazy kinds of fun. Though you do get a sense of "been there done that *yawn*" when friends come up to visit and they all want to go check out the "cool things" the mall has to offer.
Red Deer was like the Alabama of Canada.
and Calgary was just a constant feeling of Canadians trying to pretend they are texans.

If you want to see a real hole then go to Ohio. I love BC. It's damn expensive to live here, but I wouldn't leave it for all the pennies in Ohio.

I live in Calgary, moved here a while ago from Ontario which I really miss.
Calgary is probably the cleanest city I've ever been too. Besides going to the country Bars which I went too once (Never Again) you don't see anyone acting like a cowboy (Except for Stampede) You must of been hanging out with the crack heads up in the North East.
Edmonton is an ugly, old city. Besides the mall, they have crap.
Red Deer is a blast, but it doesn't compare to Wasaga Beach in Ontario. Red Deer beaches don't even have sand, just clumps of grass and dirt hanging a few inches over the water......
The Rockies are just amazing. You can't even explain how great they are, you have to witness it for yourself.
I must admit though, Ontario is better then Alberta. It's home.
