AB PLANAR ADJUSTMENT
PLANAR - ADJUSTMENT
Syntax: ADJUST HERE
Power: 5 (any)
By focusing intensly on your surroundings, you may adjust to any discretionary power. Doing so takes a long time, but will render you immune for the next day or until you leave the plane, whichever comes first. You must remain perfectly still and make no action that requires equilibrium or balance while adjusting, or you will have to start over. You will be immune to being moved by discretionary powers, but not to the damage caused by them.

Time requirement is about the same as teleport nexus. This prevents people from kicking a cherub and running while not hampering people who are trying to raid for real.

My concern would be surviving the passive area-wide damage that would occur from both shrines and ripple while you're doing this.

Aye and the passive effects will stop it anyways by moving you or some other thing (I think)
I know I lost tess's by being thrown around -shrug-

It shouldn't stopped by sipping or passive effects. I edited the first post to make that more clear.

While this would greatly mitigate the effect of discretionary powers, at the same time it would render them near-useless to those with this ability.
Shiri2008-02-19 03:51:55
Yeah, it's not like they can easily get there and stop you in 15 seconds if they suspect you're doing it. Or you can just do that before raiding. Everyone will be immune to it if they have the skill.

Maybe it'd be better to have an ability to disable them in a room, but if you move the suppression goes away. Would be useable for BigGame or if you're setting up a coven/standing still a while, but not so useful if you're mobile and doing hit&run tactics.

This also works.

Not sure how useful this would be. When do you need just one room free of planar effects? One room that it's possible for you to stand in for an extended period of time setting it up? I guess if your raid is just to secure a room and wait for them to come dislodge you. You wouldn't be able to set it up at a supermob as chances are pretty good you'd die first. You could have your killing group there with you but chances are good by the time you finished the suppression the mob would be dead or your group would be dead. And you'd probably be dead too!
Am I missing some utility here?

My idea wouldn't need to have an "extended period of time"-- there's not as much need for that. It would still have a significant power expenditure so as to avoid the whole hit&run thing. You can use it if you're not being very mobile (/ attacking a BigMob), or deal with discretionary powers if you want to remain mobile.
