However my last point still stands and really the point of this entire thread. Give druids what they need to be more effective outside a demesne with a few abilities to work with the demesne because otherwise you have ecology...

It's far more likely that runes, dreamweaving, and ecology will see major upgrades and The Grand Sap Nerf will come to town.

No argument that druids suck out of demesne. However, this is a sacrifice they make for being hands down, one of the best PK archetypes in demesne. If you want better out of demesne fighting, your demesnes will need some major nerfing. Then again, you'll just turn into mages. I have no idea why you keep mentioning ecology. Are you an ecologist? Dreamweaving is the best way for druids to go (some say runes, but they lie). Void and sap. Two amazing skills. You'd be hard pressed to get any druid buffs...because they don't need them.
Well maybe some minor DMP changes because they really do splat a bit too quickly

I have actually been all three options (though not runes to trans), runes as have been mentioned are generally just rad, ecology is the best real choice out of the demesne as it offers protection and two of the selected poisons but doesn't have any demesne meshing because it's shared with bards. Dreamweaving is our option but outside of a demesne it is just deepsleep and trying to flick one mote per puncture.
hum, also just wondering as you are a mage exactly how many things can you potentially do to an enemy at range in your demesne?
Honestly what is making magi suck in your eyes when compared to druids? You've ruled out ecology. Phantomwalls is a lesser equivalent of briars, can't cast for demesne though.
Phantoms, cure is trans arts isn't it? comes with a lesser but ranged form and also comes in a 10p demesne wide version.
Reality might be easier to remove than sapling but you can cast fifty of them for seven power.
But yeah I've never been mage so I'm actually curious why you aren't as good as druids inside your meld *shrug*
