I beleive he was owned by nintendo in the sense of his creator (sorry, can't remember them name right now) worked for nintendo, thus I think nintendo has some rights to Snake. Sonic has appeared on nintendo systems but he is Sega. The real point of my last post was that the characters this round are a bit disppointing, while I'm gald to not see two of the same characters, just one is weaker (like pikachu and pichu).
If you are going to do something like that have the weaker verison 'grow' into the stronger via smash ball (like the Samus/zero suit samus thing). Another thing that bugs me is they used a dual-layer disc, as I said before I had to send in my wii today to get it fix..., They should have used just one big disc. Use like some 100GB disc or whatever the size needed was. (yea, mini rant there.... :/)

Hideo Kojima worked for Nintendo briefly at one point, I believe. However, Metal Gear Solid has always been under the license of Konami. Kojima really wanted Snake to be in Super Smash Brothers Melee originally, but Nintendo turned him down since the game was already far into development. They decided then to add Snake in the next installment. On another note, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes was also released for the Gamecube to give Snake a reason to appear in SSB as well.
As for Sonic, when Sega decided to stop making hardware and focus all of their software onto all markets (the PS2, Xbox, Gamecube) that meant Sonic is techically on every system now, but he's more prominently seen near Nintendo's games. Needless to say, Sonic belongs in there.

Yes. I'm in favour of a Lusty Brawl Tournament provided we all put credits into the pot. I shall destroy all. Bwahahah.
Not all of use have credits nor can buy credits. (if we can most would probably rather use it on themselfs). We should just play for fun. If there must be some prize, make it credits if you want, free stuff, or even gold.

Do research - Metal Gear didn't start on Nintendo.
Either way, It doesn't matter. I'll agree that it's odd to have Sonic in Brawl, but more characters for me equals more variety, and I desire variety.

The Pokemon Trainer is a lot of fun, though Squirtle is frick'n suicidal with Withdraw. Right off the stage more often than not, heh.
I really want to master Olimar though. Everyone seems to be writing him off, but I think his pikmin have a lot of potential so long as you're willing to pay attention to which ones are at the front of the line and really use their different abilities to their fullest.
I'm enjoying Zero Suit Samus a lot too.

Kirby is my favorite so far. It's just great watching him turn into all sorts of things as he does his "deathsmash from above" maneuver!

I haven't gotten Brawl yet (but it's not a matter of "IF" as it is "WHEN"). In Melee I loved playing as Young Link. I hope they didn't use the bloody "Celda" for Young Link. Otherwise I'll have to use regular Link (which wouldn't suck).

Because, as it was explained to me, the Japanese audience is who they're aiming for first, not the North American/Europeans. And they like the cell pixle Link.
No clue if that's true!

I love Celda..and I also love Super Smash Bros Brawl. I'm really quite good with Sonic, and not too shabby as Olimar. My main in Melee was Zelda, but in Brawl she is really quite OP. I haven't decided who I'd like to be my main character, but I'm fairly sure it will be out of Sonic, Olimar, Lucas, or Pokemon Trainer.
I don't have a Wii yet, but my parents bought it for me the night SSBB came out, and they're going to give it to me when I go down for Easter (Call it a minor bribe). They also pre-ordered the game for me, which is nice, as I've been playing on my lame roommate's. But I would really enjoy a Lusternia SSBB, not just for the fact that I'm fairly sure I'd place in the top three.

Nerf Deathsmash!
(I'm sorry. I couldn't resist.)

I just unlocked Lucario earlier and oh my goodness is he ever so much fun.
Bael2008-03-15 03:54:34
Ike is cool to use and is probably my favorite charac to use in Brawl (not really as slow as many people think), although Marth is a close second (he got nerfed ) and ROB as the third.
I dont like using Olimar that much, though we had some tournies at school and at the ones I was at, Capt Olimar owned everyone else (even faster with his OP final smash <- think thats the word- that ball thing).
Sonic and Fox/Falco have pretty amusing final smashes too.
If we have a tournament though, keep Battlefield the only stage. No warioware please :beg:
Edit: Forget about Lucario. He is fun to use too

Got it today, very into Meta Knight so far. Him and Kirby have been my two best. Olimar also looks cool but I'm having trouble with him.
And I would definitily be into doing a Luster thing

Metaknight and his ship are pure style.

Well. I got Brawl for Easter (yay!!!!!), however I have a lot to focus on this semester in school so my Wii is at home (nooooooooo!), however, for the few hours that I played it, I really loved it and can't wait till the end of the semester to get back and start playing it!
I gave Pit a try and I have to say, I think I found my new regular. I haven't been able to keep a chracter through the series! In the Original I was Pikachu, in Melee I was Roy, then Marth then Young Link, and it seems that here in Brawl I'm now Pit.
I have to say, I probably would have done better if I didn't keep mistaking the Wiimote and Nunchuck for a Game Cube Controller! I kept doing things that seemed like they'd work judging on hand and finger positions on the controller, but only to realize that I was wrong! (merf). Anywho, I have a couple of Game Cube controllers ordered from Amazon. That will make things hella easier.
If/when I get my Wii hooked up to the Internet, I'd love to trade ID numbers and go at it with you guys.
Edit: I'm going to throw this into the mix, but if you've played Melee and/or the Original extensivly, and you never owned a Game Cube, invest in some Game Cube controllers. The word on the street is that if you've played Melee before, Game Cube controllers are a lot easier to use. The controls are all the same from Melee. Also, you can get Game Cube controllers for relativly low prices at Amazon.

How much longer do I have to wait to unlock Solid Snake?
Dysolis2008-03-25 02:15:30
Not sure how much longer, but I went to a friends house and his long ranges attacks are nice. Especially sense he is like Samus, but with more variety. I would say sonic is my next favorite , and then my other line up fox ,pickachu, and mario.
