I'd have to disagree with the statements that Shayle or anyone in particular ran off the latest active incarnation of Viravain. Though I'm appreciative of the fact that working as a patron is a very challenging task I'm going to have to say that Vira 2.0 really kind of dug a hole for herself. As for whether Glomdoring "needs" a patron at all, well, at the very least many Gloms go without easier access to somewhat regular favours from Divine which can help with combat, bashing, etc., which is a perk in itself that many players outside of Glomdoring have access too. Beyond that and more important to me is a lack of an interesting facet of roleplay which comes from having an active patron. I can understand lack of volunteers, though, and unfortunately I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel appearing anytime soon. Glomdoring monks, anyone?

I always thought it would be kind of cool if Viravain got split up into different strong mobs that sat in places in the Glomdoring.
I think that's a cool idea.
And though I haven't been on the inside of any of it, I'm inclined to agree that Viravain has too much baggage now -- both in Her own history, and in the feelings people have about Her -- that it'd be better to make a fresh start. Some of Viravain's reboots were attempts to get that fresh start with the same name and history, I suspect, but I don't think it worked too good, and each time it's likely to work a little less well.

Well, first of all, let me say that if you've got some enthusiasm, joining Viravain's Order is not a bad idea. There are opportunities to RP in the Order, even without an active Viravain.
Having said that, it is pretty difficult to keep momentum going in the Order without her. On good weeks, I log into Lusternia maybe three times, so I can't act very well as a proxy Divine. I've found that most of the active players in the Order are capable RPers and love new ideas and ways to participate, but it's just very hard to keep people interested in a sustained effort without Viravain to interact with, and I include myself in that.
I don't think we -need- Viravain back at a commune level, nor really at an Order level - arguably, the Order is more active now than it ever has been. Although I think it's probably safe to say that people would be a lot more into the Order aspect of their fun than they are now. It's not hard to come up with stuff for the Order to do, and we do that; it's just hard to stay fired up about it for very long.

I don't think it's really constructive to dredge up past issues when we have (hopefully!) moved on.
I do note Viravain does occasionally show up. Other than that, gods don't spontaneously appear out of thin air. These are volunteer admins who work behind the scenes because they want to, and they certainly deserve much more respect than they usually get. If Glomdoring doesn't have a patron or one as active as they want, it is not because we are "holding back"--it's because one doesn't exist.

I hereby volunteer myself for either Viravain or Isune. I'm around all the time, I have probably 1000 hours + logged between my few characters
yeah, I can wish, right?

This is a subtle hint that you submit an Ephemeral application the next time they ask for them.
If you're really wishing, at least.
(Please just end Viravain, though!)

If I could recommend the continuous use of grammar.. It might help.

also, fwiw, Viravain's Order does have a pre-Order cult/clan/whathaveyou that if you are interested in and *want* to be active on some level with Her, you can be. It is a first step into Orderhood. Message me IG and I can get you involved
