Unnerfing Races, and improving in general

Generally if you nerf a race you need bring down its waeknesses. If you lower mugwump eq you need lower the weaknesses or compensate. Same for faeling, which are only a complaint because of dps.

Most of the original suggestions are kind of OP, Pack? Sure. Upgrade their kata use? haha no.

For the most part I like the topic direction, continue, I wont add in any thoughts. No one would care.

That's because Bonecrusher is unique in one regard: They have a lot of lower-wounding-state good afflictions, such as stuns. That's an issue with Bonecrusher, not Faelings, really. Aslaran can do the same thing. High-speed low-strength races are very suited to this, because they don't do as much wounding but do attack faster. It's a fair bit different with any of the other specs where the nastier afflictions take more wounding, since we spend a lot of our time in the lower-wound-states.

Not true any monk faeling can do basicly the same thing only with a writhe affliction. steelgrip/kick till dead.

So I take it you didn't read either my post or your own, which was discussing warrior specs? huh.gif Monks aren't quite warriors, and kata isn't quite one of the Warrior specs.

I skimmed it but dismissed it as bs, and moved on.

So you dismissed your own post as BS.

I guess that says something.

I take it that this is another post of BS? (Not that I'd actually accuse you of it, but you seem to have accused yourself).

Aww.. I care, tell us what you think.. this IS, of course, what the topic is for.. well, mostly

Orclachs should have a higher intel than Tae'dae.

Or at the very least, make it equal sad.gif
Unknown2008-03-05 03:43:29
I agree.

To be honest, ( No offense to those who play these races) I always see Tae'dae as sort of dopey acting, maybe a bit slow in action, if not in mind.

Orclach, I think of as crafty, and a bit slow, more streetsmarts than booksmarts, if you get the idea..

but that's just my humble opinion
Malarious2008-03-07 03:35:41
Since there would be cries of bias if I touched any race that cant be in Magnagora...

General:
-Allow spec races to get eq and bal bonuses as a result of speccing (ex. faeling is lvl 1 balance. if you go warrior you get another +1, if you go druid you get +1 to eq).
-Make a race balanced to its weakness

Merian:
-Drop Eq speed
-Lower weakness

Viscanti:
-Eq or Bal boost please? sad.gif
-Lower/Drop Sipping penalty
-Lower taint regen

Orclach:
-Drop resists
-Up int to not be wrack fodder?

Dwarf:
-Lose penalty to eq sad.gif

Will leave the rest alone

Navaryn2008-03-07 03:56:14
Viscanti also need better charisma. You know, being noble and all. Nothing crazy, a base charisma of 12 or 13 would be good enough, I think.

dunno.gif
Unknown2008-03-07 15:48:23
Aren't they uncharismatic (is that a word?) because so many other races dislike them?

Aslaran

At Level 50, an Aslaran becomes Aslaran Noble, with these stats. + 2 Str, +1 Dex. This Aslaran is able to regain health faster from sleeping, however, in daytime, is slower to awaken.

At Level 25, the Aslaran gain an innate SCENT ability, as seen in the Wolf Totem. At Level 30, the Aslaran gains the Stink Ability, also as the totem skill.

An Aslaran wielding two weapons has a slightly greater chance to hit.

The first two are really the only things I like out of the suggestions for Aslarans, specifically. I didn't really read the others, because I'll never play anything other than Aslaran tongue.gif

The str and dex would be nice, Aslaran warriors are kinda weak, but the tradeoff is speed. I'd really like to have Scent. It's annoying to constantly get asked why I can't Scent (I'm a Tracker).

On the other hand, the dual wielding thing is... meh. It's more of a personal thing, but I've always pictured Aslarans more of a two-hander race. The few other Aslaran warriors I've seen tend to be Blademasters, but I'm not going to even go into how common that spec is. Plus, the Aslarans in the Grey Moors carry spears, with knives as side weapons. If there was a spec for polearms (smiths can make them, but they're pointless unless you have Joust in Riding), I'd say swap the dual wield for that. However, since there isn't one, I'd say swap the chance to hit for any Aslaran wielding a weapon has a greater chance to hit with a physical attack.
