I've been randomly losing all my connectivity from both work and home over the last couple weeks. I just figured the Internet was beginning to collapse... At any rate, there's nothing I can do to help you because it's not an issue with the application.
Yeah I wasn't sure if there was some overflow issue or something. It never happens at home where the connection/computer are a bit more dependable.

Some firewalls have maximum session times. That is, you can keep your connection to somewhere open for X minutes before it shuts it down. Might be why you get problems at work, especially if it seems to happen around the same time (like 2 hours after you connect, for example). Otherwise, yes its probably you work's bad internet connection.
It would be nice if I could connect out from work but its all locked down though I suppose sneaking out and using tf is possible.

Nah, it's some sort of strange connection negotation error. Once it stabilizes (and the disconnects happen every couple seconds after connecting) it will stay connected for 8+ hours. I'm one of two IT admins, so I know there isn't a session timer on it, heh.
Just get promoted to IT!

I wish lusternia would just allow an SSH connection, everyone has that port open =)

Please forgive me if this has been mentioned, though some people compiling this in Linux may experience the following:
CODE
samantha@neptune.dyndns.org:~/incoming$ make
-e \\e
-e \\e

When using this version of LTMS I'm having a few problems when flying in aetherspace, the aetherspace map isn't displaying properly and isn't showing all colours which makes it a real difficulty to use, anyone know why this might be?
Unknown2008-05-28 03:02:05
I've never seen an aetherspace map, at least not when using LMTS, but my initial guess would be that it might have something to do with the MXP code. Other than that, I'd need to see what you see (and maybe what you're not seeing) to get a better idea.
Unknown2008-06-19 07:00:44
Have you had any luck tracking down the segfault in destroy_map? I've started working on a new fork of IMTS and i forgot how annoying it was. Need to sit down and debug that nonsense at some point.
Unknown2008-06-19 11:51:11
I searched for that problem for about a month, but no luck. If I could compile it with Visual Studio, I could debug it much, much better. Maybe I'll work on that one day...

Still having issues getting map to work with LMTS2.
lmap
I’ve tried lmap none and then lmap follow on
If you have suggestions on how to get this working please don’t simply say do this, but provide instructions on how to do what you suggest.
Using CMUD set to localhost and port 3000.
Map file placed in same directory as LMTS.
Map file renamed to LMAP (no extension).
There is a config.mapper.txt file (contains the following information).
# File generated by LMapper.
# Manual changes that are not loaded will be lost on the next rewrite.
Title-Color brown
Disable-Swimming no
Disable-Locating no
Disable-AreaName no
Disable-MXPTitle no
Disable-MXPExits no
Disable-MXPMap no
Disable-AutoLink no
Disable-SewerGrates no
Enable-GodRooms no
# Room Tags.
***LMTS2 on startup***

It's possible that you're just standing in a room not on your map. If that's not the case, a simple LOOK should set your current room. If you want to start mapping from your current (unknown) room, use the command to create a room (forget off the top of my head, sorry).
Desitrus2008-08-19 18:02:25
So I finally pinned it down somewhat, the random disconnects. It happens only when ATCP passthrough is enabled, and still only at work. Originally I had thought it was communications interference from some of the communication software I support, but I just got a new computer at work and tried lmts2 first (hehe) to see if vanilla would work. I still get random disconnects with the same message any time atcp passthrough is on. Any thoughts?
Unknown2008-08-19 22:06:28
Sorry, but not really. I've been using LMTS 2 for months now on three different computers and haven't had any trouble with disconnections. It's not the sort of thing I can debug easily (especially if I can't recreate it) because of the way it is compiled under MinGW and not in a full IDE-type system.
Unknown2008-08-20 19:55:04
So...since I'm pretty much new to this whole mapping style...what's the advantage of LMTS over something like Cmuds Mapper?
Also is there a completed Lusternia map out there?

LMTS has the best speedwalking of any mapper and a few other features you won't find in the CMUD mapper. The only real downside is the graphical representation is not as nice.
Shamarah's map is the only known LMap for sale, and he keeps it fairly well updated. (Disclaimer: I do not use Shamarah's map myself.)

It's current and the updates are free. He even has the new desert zone, whee.

So I got the map installed and a few rooms of Magnagora mapped...but what I'm not sure how to do at all is link certain rooms that are being mapped redundantly.
For example I'll enter an exit down and come up to the same level in a room I've already mapped, but LMTS doesn't know this, and it draws a new room. I don't know how to merge the rooms.

lmap help
room help
exit help
Etc till you've seen them all. Should explain most of it. I still recommend dropping the 20-25 cr on shamarah's as it has absolutely everything.
Unknown2008-08-21 15:42:18
If I had credits to "drop" I would, but everything I have goes to skills right now.
Steingrim2008-08-22 22:51:47
You're right and after looking at the file...none of the rooms I was standing in were in the map, as it was a map of Imperian. Actually using the correct map seems to actually work --- who would have figured.
