Like Humans, Trill have almost no defined racial RP. We don't even have a racial language. It is implied that since Trill/Lucidian were close that Trill and Dracnari would be far apart, and I actually had a good time with that when Everiine's Dracnari mate was still playing. But other than that, not really much. There is the Eliz Tirita, but up to the point I left there hadn't been much done in the way of RP or culture.

I actually ran into some Trill vs. Dracnari RP with NPCs yesterday. Near the Dracnari Nomad camp in Skarch is the Mesa Complex, which is made up of Trills and Lucidian. In some areas, I would see a Dracnari warrior standing with a Trill warrior. I went ahead and killed the Dracnaris (since I'm enemied to the Nomads anyway), and if a Trill warrior was there, he would thank me for killing said Dracnari and hand me gold. This may just be for this area, but it seems like maybe the Trill and the Dracnari are meant to be opposed (though certainly exceptions have and can be made).
Also, I think looking at the Book of Trillilial should give you some ideas about how to play a Trill. I would assume they tend to be more artsy and whimsical.

Take a gander at the History of the Vernal Wars and the Fall of the Holy Celestine Empire in the history section of the site. The Lucidian and the Dracnari never got along real well and because the Trill hung out with the Lucidian, the Trill and the Dracnari don't get along all that well either.
Edit: In response to the Poll I said that I would enjoy seeing more/better RP for this race, but there are some players who do it well. I play a Human character and I find that the Human's RP while appearing to be fairly lack-luster, makes up for it by being probably the most open of any of the other races, and there are some Human characters out there that take advantage of that and do it quite well.

I've never ever seen Dracnari warriors at the Mesa... I wonder if this only happens at certain times (I seem to have a vague memory about the Dracnari nomads as part of the Hand quest say something about attacking the complex) or if it's new since the last time (a long time ago) I was there.
I've read the Book of Trillilial many times, but "artsy and whimsical" is a far, far cry from racial RP. Hence my vote that Trill have almost no RP.

Latl is a Faeling.
I do try to portray that, its constantly on my mind.
As a result I spend more time making notice of subtle changes in natural environments, aswell hang out an enormeous amount of time in Faethorn and the forest. Also, cities are nearly as bad to him as the taint itself, he dosnt distuingish too much between them. He dosnt understand citydwellers, dosnt want to, want them out.
I would like to see more lore on it, though. Its hard to portray something I know so little about. Right now I attempt to seem in touch with nature and the Fae spirits, yet with a sort of down-to-earth calm.
Gief more Faeling

Personally, I like being an orclach, but I was only able to really start playing one again when I got my Cameo. When a race has severe stat penalties in areas like CHA or INT and your nation is already short on influencers, it then falls to you to make sacrifices. So I just go human/fealing when I need to, for a revolt, and try to play Orclach the rest of the time.

I have an utter lack of Racial RP. This however, ties into my RP as a whole. Kialkarkea is a changeling(Or at least he thinks he is), but he has trouble focusing and getting a Cameo, so he does it via the crude methodology of a Dagger.
Yes I do have RP. Lots of it actually. Happy-go-lucky-spazzy I am not.

Selverad2008-07-17 22:26:19
In the order I have played them...
Tae'dae
-I try, with Selverad, to be a lot more gruff and short-spoken than usual. Never two words where one will suffice, that sort of thing. It's a challenge, since I'm a naturally verbose individual, but trying to keep him on a more primal level makes things more fun. I don't know how other people play their Tae'dae, I know of one other Serenguard Tae'dae that I almost felt like a translator for, being somewhat of a middle ground between "Caveman" and "Common". I've also known most other Tae'dae aren't really much different from most other characters, and it's sometimes surprising to find out when someone else is one.
Aslaran
-I was focusing more on the Stealth factor, and less on racial roleplay, so I don't really have an opinion here. I chose Aslaran for purely mechanical reasons, and to be honest, I wasn't all that interested in playing as a cat-person... too many bad stereotypes.
Loboshigaru
-Ok, not the greatest choice in the world for a bard, but I really wanted to play one. Briefly thought of being a Nekotai, but when you've bashed to 50 as a monk once, you've done it all. Joined the Harbingers, but with so few other Loboshigaru around there isn't much chance for racial roleplay, beyond displaying a slightly more martial bent than most bards (all illusion. I'm garbage at combat, but I carry a sword, and sometimes use it when bashing for an audience.) Very militantly anti-city, pretty xenophobic actually, and the first of my characters to gain enemy status anywhere in the Basin.
Connecting with more Loboshigaru would probably make the Pack mentality a bit easier to roleplay. A clan could help with that, but I haven't the funds.
Trill
-Humans with wings, really. I'm not impressed. While again, largely a mechanical choice to allow for uber-charisma as a Celestine (yeah, I know, Celestines get wings anyway) I still haven't managed to trip over any good hints at trill RP.

Trills, to me, seem compassionate and can easily appeal to the heart of the audience. They're emotional (not emo) to the point that they follow their feelings rather than their logical thought. Much to the opposite of Lucidians. I actually thought that that was the reason Lucidians and Trills were perfect matches - opposites attract, no?

don't mention that changeling stuff around Doman, he's a purist, and if you can't change, you're not a changeling. He'll also think you're weak for using the dagger. Remember, Cameo doesn't maket he changeling, it just says you are one.

Just play it how you think it should be. Really, that stereotype is more about the character itself and not whether it is an Aslaran. (Cat fae vs. Glom, anyone)? I've taken next to no crap for my racial choice since starting in September. The only things I have gotten have been some very rare out of the blue er... "suggestions" that were very easily brushed off.
I mean, sure, there's that stereotype, but it doesn't hold up unless you let it for Aslaran at least. Aslarn was a 1st circle god, which is rare enough, and had some pretty cool involvement with the histories. There's the whole racial feud with Krokani, and the probable connection to the "will-likely-never-be-seen-Jojobo", and Sun. So while there certainly isn't as much to work with compared to merian or viscanti or elfen or something, there's definitely some neat aspects as well.

I always saw racial RP (existant or non) as guidelines for building your character's overall RP.

Well when I do finally buy a cameo (I ish still cheapses, so expect december...maybe ) I shall have to buy a dagger as well and poke you with it.
Seraku2008-09-04 14:50:12
Well for the most part, other Dracnari seem kinda blah. What few are around dont RP our race well. However in Seraku's little clique consisting of Draca, Eterelu, and Kundu. It tends to work well, its rather fun RPing a Dracnari from the Racial issues with Trill and Lucidians to their longing to return to Gaudiguch. One of the more fun RP moments was when Seraku and his sister gave a much needed crash-course in dracnari Social Habits to Garrett who ended up very wary of Dracnari . However I wish they had more racial emotes for Dracnari involving the tails. I find that its a huge part of Dracnari roleplaying, Hehe

I always tend to go human, because I'm never sure how to go about racial roleplay. I think it'd be a blast if I did!
Though, I wouldn't be surprised if humans did manage to put something together. I know they are eternally the average mix-ins, forever totally adaptable and whatnot, but given that they are the latecomers to the Lusternian scene, and it's possible to have an "old" human as well as a new mixed one... IDK, something could be there!
But I guess this is more for personality and prejudices and the like? Human culture being possibly anything while ... Yeah.

One question, how many Taurians or Igasho have any of you seen, to be honest... I don't really see much.

I sorta RP being Merian, Law's smart and proud, but that's about all I can do with it.
