City/Nature conflict is by no means dead. Any city dweller sets foot on the Ethereal realm outside of Faethorn and there will be chaos. There have been a few times, even during my time here, that Serenwilde and Glomdoring have teamed up (albeit for very brief times) to drive the cities out from harming nature. As much as the two Forests hate each other, if either of the cities threaten Nature, the one thing the two have in common, they will fight together to remove that threat. Forest/city conflict is some of the most intriguing RP you'll find here.

A further issue with this is that bards and scholars contribute to culture scores. Whatever benefit they provide can be dominated by magnagora simply because of how this place is designed.
Now if it mean't that... you have to empower bards/scholars/pilgrims before they will follow you and the people the b/s/p quests are designed for could do this successfully then maybe.

Hmm, two thoughts. One, I think a small quest that allowed other orgs to gather bards and scholars would be cool. Something like get a special potion, give it to a bard, and then he can follow you. Second, it would also be cool if the other orgs try to build a aether broadcasting centre.

It's like this: Imagine if the quest that allows Magnagora to attack the Star of Celest (and eventually Pool of Stars) was removed, but Celest kept the quest that allows them to attack the Necromentate (and eventually Megalith).
It isn't already? Celenwilde just sends in the Super Happy Fun Kawaii Titan++ Squad in at random times and there isn't too much that Magnagora can do to stop it without finding a Glommer to choke the Demon Lords.

This is all bad karma for allowing Celenwilde to exist.

I believe completing the quest makes bards, scholars and pilgrims only listen to the kind of org that completed the quest.
What if a rogue completes it?

Ooh! I don't know. Maybe then no one but rogues can! Or maybe it'll make the station crash.
Gwylifar2008-03-13 17:39:49
Or it causes Kethuru to break into the Basin through the huge gaping hole in reality caused by a "Divide by zero error", at least until Roark's pager goes off.

I bet you then that Zenos comes out and destroys the Domoths and releases a new taint.

No, it'll just release the sum total of every avatar you've ever had, and this monstrosity will then shoot rainbows and prozac up everyone's (anatomical region that sounds like gas).

I believe completing the quest makes bards, scholars and pilgrims only listen to the kind of org that completed the quest. So, if a Magnagoran or Celestian completes it, then they'll only follow someone from a city and won't listen to folks from a forest and vice-versa.
It's basically a way to try to prevent the opposing side (with the line drawn between forests and cities instead of taint and not-taint - which is where the problem seems to be, because everyone cares more about the taint/not-taint conflict and ignores the city/nature one) from getting the bards, scholars and pilgrims.
I love the idea of there being more city vs forest conflict! Too bad everyone's too wrapped up in the taint to take advantage of it. Though, of course, I understand why that is. I just wish folks could think a way around it.

So is this how it is with the broad cast center? if let's say a Celestin attempts it then will there be aether messages on following the light?

No, I think no matter who completes the quest, the messages (which I still haven't heard ) will be the same. Right?

I don't know , I am unsure if anyone other than Magnagora has completed it right now so I think time will have to tell so far.

Serenwilde has. Messages were the same.
