Not that I'm disagreeing with the idea, but if it gets too close being a duplicate of AncestralWatch, that can't be too good. (AncestralWatch costs 1p to place a spirit that watches a single elevation at a single location for personal enemies; the spirit decays on the 1st or 13th, or when it sees an enemy, so they only fire off once, and they only notify the person who called them, not the whole guild. If a piked head does the same job better, and lasts a lot longer, expect it to cost a lot more.)

Hmm, I definitely see a problem there. Perhaps then the heads could do exactly the same thing. It would serve the same function just in a different guild, just like Frost Hags and Centaur Hunters do.

Ehh I've always seen tracking as a magical/spiritual-less skill. Theres a bond with your companion yeah but thats about it and I think it should remain that way.. Using chemicals and/or your trapping abilities to make the head react somehow when somebody enters the room makes more sense in my opinion.
Beheading corpses should definitely be available to more people. Even I can't behead corpses anymore because I'm a rogue (still got trans tracking though).

Huh? How does that work? You have the skill, it doesn't require an org-specific power source (or any power at all, really). Honestly, rogues get shafted again and again.
EDIT: Of course, you could just comeback2seren, and it would all be solved .

Headhunter ability (which is where you get being able to behead and spike from) changes from org to org. City guys dont actually spike it in the ground for example, they spike in in a shield or something to hang on a wall. The rogue version is the one that doesn't work at all
Edit: Actually the city version probably isn't even called headhunter.

. Wow.. that's just... wow... I almost feel like putting this in my sig: FIX ROGUES

Notice I'm the one getting hit by the head...

This reminds me of that time in the movie Lake Placid where the girl freaks out and screams, "No, you calm down! This is the second time today I've been hit with a severed head!"
I think the idea of the heads being useful would be cool. The head hollaring something when it spots an enemy sounds really nifty. Ooh! And maybe even when they're not reacting to you, cause you're not an enemy, they could give off ambiance messages about how 'the sunken dried out husks of their eyes seem to follow you' or 'you feel as if you're being watched from within the black of a decapitated head of Randomguy's empty eye sockets' or something like that with better grammar.

That said, there is definitely one change I (along with my Tracker buddies) would like to decapitated heads: Trackers should be able to wear the heads they shrink, much like clothing or jewelry. So when someone looks at the Tracker, they can see a variety of shrunken heads hanging off!
I'm sorry, but that's... disgusting.
But I do agree that the heads should be used for something more useful than humiliating their owners.
