Since becoming a bard I've not been using colorburst too much. Its just that I always seem to heal it personally and so I assumed people do too.. But lately, I've been trying it and people seems to die.. for example in my last spar, after managing to put the 4 barbs, he died to just four colorburst:
Perhaps colourburst is more useful than I gave it credit for.. (under recessional and octave?)

Looks like manabarbs plus an anoexia illusion or something will take them down. Most of the damage just came from their own smoking coltsfoot/insomnia spamming.

Manabarbs did a fair bit of damage there. CrusaderCanto (I believe that's what it's called) added a fair bit of damage to the first colourburst. And finally, achromaticaura boost all magic damage (which I presume Colourburst is) by 20%.

This bit right here is probably the most damaging thing that occured since CrusaderCanto, if I understand it correctly, at this stage of the song, added right about 300 more damage to the damage causing Indigo which was already boosted by CelestOde and an AchromaticAura. And CrusaderCanto itself seems to be affected by CelestOde too, so the buffs added to Indigo would be applied to the song's effect as well. If before this bit of the log that you've posted, Methrenton popped up through JustChorale, he would've been hit with sensitivity also. I'm not too keen on math, but I think that all would add up.
Out of the four instances of ColourBursting that you put up there, only twice do I see Indigo popping up which is the only one that would actually cause damage to a person. If that other instance was as prepped as the exampled quoted at the front of this post, then yes, ColourBurst would be painful indeed. Mind, it's how the Cantors are built, to deal out large amounts of damage if I understand the design correctly, so it's not just the skill by itself that's strong.

What's with bards and their ability touchiness?
I'm fairly sure most fighters already acknowledge that Bards are fine/slightly underpowered now and I can attest that the Envoys are doing their best to balance them (no, it doesn't always mean nerf) to the best of their ability.

it's not hard to put up earwort and eat horehound to heal whatever afflictions or why not just.. focus mind? If "Fighter" is who I think it is, "Fighter's" healing isn't that great anyway. Bards aren't hard if you know how to heal? Colourburst used to be a lot better than what it is now now it's just laughable. For the most part you have to use like maelstrom/rainbowpattern/colourburst to even be able to keep someone afflicted at all.
