Oh, right. Damn, my memory of those events is bad.

Somebody needs to fix Brennan and the Crow quest.

The details just don't make sense anymore. (especially since one of the skeletons is a pernament Ebonguard teacher)

How did that happen?

The Ebonguard had about 5 IC years of no guild hall and no teacher.

Viravain made skeleton number 777 our teacher. (something about her being very fiesty)

Then the Wyrdling was made, and novices could not enter the wyrdling to get to the teacher, so the 777 stuck. Just like the blacktalon had Brennan and Rowena to teach them.

Hmm. Get a God to do some sort of rite to turn her into a higher form of undead than a skeleton? unsure.gif

Fun times are back.

Anyone remember the times when White Hart was killed by Crow? I'm trying to remember what made it bad that he was dead - I know the Moonhart Tree stopped dropping nuts, and I have a vague suspicion that it also stopped gaining power from things, but I can't remember if we lost and skills in Druidry or Stag. I was Hartstone back then, but I wasn't very high in either skill. And losing the ability to get new nuts for a bit is not so bad, the druids have the whole forest covered with elders/totems now.

We lost no skills.

I'm glad there is some Forest conflict again, but it sounds like the quest the way it is now is what gives people a problem. Are people against the conflict quests in general, or just the way this one works now? And just for the record, I think conflict quests are great.

I like having the conflict quest, I just dislike how we have to go about it. unsure.gif

I dislike it in general-- especially given its current setup, which is basically "Hey, Serenwilde, go do all you want, knowing that Glomdoring's not going to be doing a thing back to you." Don't know if Seren can manage it or not, but I know Glom can't-- and we'll still be dealing with Seren's attempts.

Plus the restoration quest is a pain in the rump. It can only be done on a New Moon, once every 32 RL hours. If Serenwilde controls Stewartsville, it's most likely not getting done until they lose control. If either Mag or Celest owns it, there's a whole lot of "standing at the crib spamming GET BABY FROM CRIB" and hoping that you get it before Seren does. And if you do get it, skedaddle before the Seren-horde takes it.

It's an awful quest.

I'm excited to -finally- have a Commune/Commune conflict quest, to be honest. Though I agree with you in that the quests to actually going about doing everything should probably be changed. Like using another baby to sacrifice for Crow to be resurrected in an unguarded area.

Also, killing every Avatar with Ethereal Serenwilde/Glomdoring being the fortresses that they are is pretty much impossible. Less so now that Avatar's can't be choked anymore, but with our inability to destroy monoliths. It's damn hell difficult to infiltrate Etherglom and regroup after one or two Avatars have decimated our numbers.

That is not the way I remember it. In fact, the very first time that White Hart's bloodied corpse struck the ground, Crow’s form blotted out the sun and his talons dripped red crimson from above.
Gwylifar2008-04-07 21:00:40
When was that? I remember when Virivainthuru killed Crow (I was one of very few who made a token effort to stop Her) and I remember being sure it was the first time, since no one was sure how he was raised yet, and I had to just start trying things to figure it out. (If it had been the full moon at the right time, it would have taken about an hour, but instead it took most of two days.)
Daganev2008-04-07 21:35:39
Crow killed Hart before Viravain's name was even known to the basin...

Actually, I was wrong. I went back and looked at the event post and it reminded me how the quest worked. Instead of slaying Hart when the last Crow rite was completed, it dropped the flame first. I'll chalk it up to desiring to forget the horror of doing the Crow quests so much that I actually succeeded.
Gwylifar2008-04-08 10:36:00
That fits better with what I remember too. Gregori raised the Flame when that happened, so when it was time to raise Hart after Viravain's attack, he arranged that he'd get to do it, and then left it for me to do the raising-the-Flame part, so we both got an honours line out of it.

I tried learning from 777 with Shishi the last time he was in Glomdoring but it didn't work. (At least I'm pretty sure I did.)
